Bible Study Old Testament? New Testament? NO, NO!! Only One Covenant (Testament)

Chopper

For those of you who are stuck in the Western mind set in thinking that there are two Testaments, old & new are sadly mistaken. Testaments are really Covenants. The Truth of the Scriptures prove that there is only one Covenant.

Do you dare to seek the Truth? Or don't you want to pull your head out of the sand? My Hebrew Teacher Alan Horvath has a teaching video on this subject. Here it is....www.youtube.com/watch?v=hF0A4PROiH0
WATCH IT AND LEARN!! Ignore it and stay ignorant :chair.

That is one great Lesson that Alan has produced. That is one great view of the scriptures and it compliments my teaching so much that it might, with prayer, modify my teaching of relationship between the Testaments. I do not understand how one could call themselves Christian and then watch that Video Bible Lesson and proclaim they had found nothing of importance therein. Brother Alan is a Mighty Man of God.

hello Chopper, dirtfarmer here

You are an elder in that you are older then me. I am not reprimanding, but giving the reason that I believe that you have misunderstood some scriptures because of the doctrine of a man. I also understand that you are highly educated in that you have a degree, or degrees.

The reason that I disagree with you on there only being one covenant is because 2 Corinthians 3:9-15. Mainly because of 2 verses, 9 & 11 which states:" For if the ministration of condemnation be glory, much more doth the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory. For if that which was done away was glorious, much more that which remaineth is glorious.

Then verse 15 reads; " But even unto this day, when Moses is read(old covenant) the vail is upon their heart.
Verse 16 tells us what it takes to remove the vail: "Nevertheless when it(Israel) shal turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away."
This in not the old covenant that was give through moderaters, but the new covenant that was given through Christ.

Hebrews 8:13
In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

Why would the Lord renew that which he declared was ready to vanish away?

2 Corinthians 3:12-13
Seeing then that we have such hope, we use great plainness of speech: And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:

Why would someone seek to renew that which the Lord has abolished? Perhaps it is because their minds remain blinded, and they can not see the end of it?; because they can not see the end of it, they hope to glory in its renewal instead?

2 Corinthians 3:14-15
But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

I honestly didn't watch the whole video. I don't know where that guy is from or who his intended audience is but I've never walked into a building and heard(or rather not heard) preachers leaving out the things he claims they are leaving out.

The video speaks for itself, I have no comments....Alan Horvath is a converted Jew. He grew up at the feet of his Grandfather, and his Father who also had converted to the "Way" from Judaism. Being Eastern Hebrews and acquainted with Paleo Hebrew, Alan went further, and became a teacher of the original Otiot sign language that YHWH Elohim wrote with His finger on the two tablets that He gave to Moses. There is no language older than that.

If you fellows want to just pick Alan apart, go for it, but know this that....
That is one great Lesson that Alan has produced. I do not understand how one could call themselves Christian and then watch that Video Bible Lesson and proclaim they had found nothing of importance therein. Brother Alan is a Mighty Man of God.

Now, I agree that Alan is a mighty man of God, as Bill says. Sooo, he is teaching under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. So be careful!!

The Covenant that the Lord made with Abraham before He because flesh, was renewed with His own blood and has become the New (refreshed) Covenant.

The same Lord who made Covenant with Abraham in Genesis 17, became flesh and fulfilled His part of the blood letting.

Please be careful about getting caught up in “Messianic” teachings.

Many of them do not believe Jesus is the Lord God, but was a man only.

dirtfarmer here

If the old covenant is used lawfully it will reveal to man his need of a savior, but it was never given to bring salvation. Salvation has always been in Jesus Christ, even from the beginning. God promised that he would bruise Satan's head and thereby, all that believed would be saved.

The new covenant was given to Israel and was an earthly kingdom. The mystery of the "fellowship" is and was the establishment of the body of Christ, the heavenly kingdom that was also promised to Abraham. The "sands of the sea" is the earthly kingdom that was promised to Abraham and "the stars of heaven" was the heavenly kingdom. Most people don't acknowledge there is a literal earthy kingdom and a literal heavenly kingdom.
Romans 16:25 "Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began."
Ephesians 3:9 " And to make all men to see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hathbeen hid in God who created all things by Jesus Christ."
Ephesians 3:3-4 " How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery:sad as I wrote afore in few words, Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ."

Colossians 1:26 " Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints." Believers have a position and standing in God the father that no one has had before Christ was crucified, an equal status with Christ- heirs and joint heirs. Christians are neither Jew nor Gentile:
Ephesians 2:16 & 19 " And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:" " Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God:

You seem to be saying the Old Covenant is the law of Moses.

The Abrahamic Covenant is the Covenant we are grafted into by faith in Christ, and has been refreshed, in which it’s called the New Covenant.

The law was added to the Abrahamic Covenant, temporarily, until Christ.

Abraham walked and obeyed the Lord before He became flesh.

Same Lord we have faith in today.

Jesus's prophecies in the Gospels we're completed in 40 years. Read about it in the Works of Josephus in the war of the Jews books 5-7. The 40 years is the indication of the new contract just as the first contract was attained with Moses after 40 years of roaming in the desert.

hello JLB, dirfarmer here

The covenant of Abraham was 430 years before the law.

The video speaks for itself, I have no comments....Alan Horvath

Yes Chopper, the video does speak for itself. But we have a problem here because Mr Horvath isn't here to discuss the matter with us. Mr Horvath can't answer for himself the questions that we might have concerning this doctrine that he is promoting. But you my friend have posted the video on his behalf, and yet you say you have no comments. Should not you be able to answer these questions in his absence?

I fully know and understand that you are not promoting this man as some sort of savior or anything. But don't become too excited when someone comes along and tries add a little spice into the same old bowl of porridge and calls it something new. But what might it sound like when someone stands and says: behold he is in the desert...?

Something old and something new, but to the old it does not renew, for it must first die, before it can bring forth again. Beware of the spice added to the old dish and call it something new, for if you understood the gospel, then you should already know, that the old wine skin would burst asunder when trying to fill it with the new.

Wow! Is this going to be a hot topic? Foot Note: The Bible, the scrolls that Jesus, Peter, Paul and the others taught from the 24 Books, the same 39 books we call the Old Testament. Why the fifteen book difference? The Christians divided some of them in First and Second Books but nothing was added or left out, it is still the Bible Jesus and the disciples taught from.

Viewed properly, the remaining 27books of the
Christian Bible are the 27 God inspired Life application Commentaries on those first 39 books is the Bible. Any good Chain Referenced Bible, when studied seriously will be linked by the little notes in the center or along the edge of the specific scripture you are reading and sometimes look at the Chain Link on the linked scripture and you will be linked back to the subject in the Old Testament that is being commented on. The New Testament is God's Word on how we apply God's directions in the Old Testament. (It will teach you how thick your skull is... it that for me.

One other point that is disputed by most people, from "In the beginning... through the very last word of The Revelation, chapter 22, there is one context. This makes my most important rule to read as, no single scripture, no collection of scripture nor any Extracted Passage of scripture can be fully understood without the Light of All Other Scripture shinning upon it/them.

There are not any conflicting scriptures except they be extracted from their context.

I believe you have totally misunderstood my intentions about presenting Alan Horvath. He is my Hebrew Teacher. For a very long time, I've been constantly praying to Elohim that He would lead me into all Truth. Several years ago, The Holy Spirit led me to Alan Horvath, a third generation Hebrew believer in Christ Jesus. As a result of learning ancient Hebrew, I have view almost a hundred teaching video's from this anointed man of God.

In all those teaching video's, I've not as yet found anything I disagree with. His walk testifies to his position in Yahshua Jesus. I simply put out Alan's name and video's to help those who are hungry for Truth, not someone to bash. So far, only one has made positives remarks to Alan's words and video's and that is Bill Taylor. Bill knows when the Holy Spirit is putting forth great teachings. I also believe that Edward has made positive remarks. Thanks for both of you.

All others, be very careful what the Holy Spirit is doing in our midst. If you don't like what I'm doing, keep it to yourself and allow Almighty YHWH to rule between us.

I love you all and want the best of what Yahshua Jesus has for you all.
In Love,
Chopper

Thank you very much Bill. You are a very special man of God who is all of a prisoner to your bed of affliction. In pain and in a dying body, you're most hopeful nurse, other than those who love you, are the Scriptures of which you are studying each day.

Bill, when you arrive at the New Jerusalem, you're long time battle with pain and trials of a failing body, will be more than you could wish for. You and I are in a race to see who gets there first, lol

OLd Covenant is always???? spoken of in the NT as the law or covenant given to Moses in the wilderness
Not the seed covenant promised to Abraham which was filfilled in Christ....
Galations 3:17-18

salvation was always by faith in God to forgive and atone for our sins even before the coming of Christ
The gospel,was,preached to abraham.....
Galations 3:8

The law was given because of transgression......sins of Israel at the time against joseph...and other sins.....
kinda like a corrective program on a child or an employee
Galations 3:19
A tutor or schoolmaster
Galations 3:24-25
Sqlvation Never came through the law of Moses but was a shadow of things to come.....
Hebrews 10:1

The covenant of Moses wqs temporary
The covenant of Abraham was eternal...because it was fulfilled in Christ.
This is the same ....covenant prophesied by Jeremiah
Jeremiah 31:33
Hebrews 10:16-18
The forgiveness of sins through the blood of Jesus
Hebrews 10:19

If my wife and daughter had not had so much pain in their face when I jerked from the throbbing pain of my most recent Heart Attack, I would be standing on the other edge of the Spiritual Jordan but they could not take it and we went to the Horse-Pistol and almost as soon as they gave me the Nitro I quit bouncing around. And bot, did that Heart Surgeon get upset when I told him I already have too many stints in my system and that God would handle the problem, His way. LOL

No Chopper, I understand your intentions, I just wonder if you know. I can't argue with you, because you are right. For some they can not see the end of it as the Lord did tell; for them a renewed covenant is all but they seek. But that's not so for other's, for some have been born again. But to the widowed bride, her vows were not renewed, for upon his death she was released from his bill of divorce. A new wedding day and a new marriage feast.

What does your heart aspire to? Do you seek to follow on the know the Lord and His Glory? Do you want to stand before the bridegroom as his bride? Or do you want to follow on to walk before the Glory of the Lord under the renewed covenant that you speak? For the First Covenant was made with DEATH. Then the Lord came so that by His DEATH He could ANNUL the Covenant made with DEATH. If you are seeking to be lead into all truth, then you must be open to listening to truth. The renewed covenant that you speak of is a renewed covenant with DEATH, or otherwise known in the scripture as the SECOND DEATH. Is that the renewed covenant that you seek? Do you wish to serve before the Glory of the Lord in a pillar of fire and a cloud of smoke and a voice of thunders? Or do you seek a slightly more intimate relationship with your Lord?

dirtfarmer makes a very interesting observation here. Perhaps you would be so kind as to comment on it. Where does the promise of your hope reside? As one of the "Sands of the Sea" or as one of the "Stars of Heaven?"

I have emphasized dirtfarmer's comment so that you might consider the following:

Matthew 5:3
Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:5
Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

1 Corinthians 15:40

There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.

Romans 9:22-23

What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
