Superman used to change clothes in a phone booth...and when they made the original Superman movie they showed how phone booths were changing. (No doors)

So when "Man of Steel" came out...they didn't even bother. They pretty much don't exist anymore.

Most people carry cell phones nowadays. It wasn't economical to maintain most of them anymore, as they got little use.
