Oh, some news: I got four speeding tickets in 2013. :cool
Yea, it was a fun year! (Only one on my record.)

I was thinking of buying another car, one with a supercharger, but the last thing I need is more power. Instead, I enrolled in University of North Georgia (well, I've APPLIED) and declared a math major and physics minor. Seems like a better way to spend my money.

Even at age 53.

So, now I'm a mechanic.

THe fall Dragon meet is coming up in less than two weeks and the local garage I use is closed (I think, due to a death in the family). But my belt tensioner and/or idler pulley have worn out. So....... because I'm going on a business trip Sundya that won't end until the day before the Dragon - I tried to replace both parts myself. In the process, I realized the belt was cracking and frayed.... so in the middle of the repair, I had to run to Advance Auto for a belt - amazingly, wiht all that nonsense, counting wash up time, I spend 61 minutes on the repair and the trip to the store!

I had no idea I could replace both parts, get the engine fan assembly back in there and wash up in an hour! So, I saved $90 labor AND it's done so I can relax before heading out on the trip.
THe car, in the past six weeks, now has been given: 12 new spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, belt, belt tensioner, idler pulley, transmission fluid, differential fluid and an oil/filter change.

I sure hope it doesn't need anything more....

Oh................................. And while I was accepted at UNG, I have changed my mind. Pursuing a B.S in math would be fun, I just don't have time AND I can't bring myself to spend that money. SO, I will wait till I'm 62 - 'cause then, I can attend college / university free of tuition charges!

THanks you two! I was really surprised it didn't all go wrong, as sometimes such repair attempts do.
I also could not believe I had the right tools - I have only four of the 11 piece torx set (an antique set my dad left behind) - I had no idea there was a torx bolt in there - and I had the right socket!

Smiles all!

You did scratch the fenders did ya
