Rock

Do you play rock? Do you sing it? Are you a fan?

Some frown at rock, some call it 'demonic' yet some love it. Whats your stance on it

Learning to play the guitar and bass guitar. As soon as I have the skills I'll find a band, preferably metal or rock.

I think it depends on the lyrics generally speaking.
It also depends on how the music effects the individual person.

Deu_32:15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation.
Deu_32:18 Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee.
Deu_32:31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.

Rock and heavy / death metal for me , gets my blood pumping for training. As long as the lyrics don't mock or deny Christ. That being said,i have a pretty broad taste in music and listen to many genres. The only ones off limits are jazz and opera...I'd prefer having my nails and teeth pulled out..slowly... than listen to either

I love jazz, George Benson is one of my favorites and then there's Latin Santana.

Sorry I intended to just post the link.

Gary I'm not much for opera either but his man and some others I have heard lately have just the most amazing voices ever. What could be more difficult to sing than opera.

reba it is definitely about what sounds like discord, coming together. Some of the really funky stuff is too difficult for me to enjoy.

Big fan of Rock and Metal. For the Rock side I love me some Rush, Led Zepplin, Alice In Chains, King's X, Stone Temple Pilots, Pink Floyd, and some REM.

For stuff like Metal and Post Rock I like Judas Priest, Devin Townsend Project, Blind Guardian, and some Metallica from time to time. Tons of other bands, but they are in the rotation the most. Occasionally I listen to the harder side of metal with some Emperor, Bathory, Cynic, and Slayer. Though I don't listen to that as much as I used to. Just got tired of the constant bombardment of sound.

However I also love some Bella Fleck and the Flecktones, Scissor Sisters, Depeche Mode, Tool, Alan Jackson ( especially his latest blue grass album), Tortoise, and God is an Astronaut. There is probably a lot I'm forgetting, but that is off the top of my head.

Didn't know Alan Jackson has a new one out, I'll have to check it out for my dh.
I used to listen to Pink Floyd many years ago. I'd still like some of their songs.

Whoever doesnt love jazz here should be banned from the site, CF.net. I will see to that. How can someone not love jazz?

jazz is organised nonsense, some say: yet it is superb: millions of jazz chords to play. Hehe!
