Route pics

Not a Portuguese style home but older then a lot of homes nearby.probably given its style late 1800s.the red door homes here all predate the county and city.I have seen three so far.

That red door certainly stands out!
I'm not sure why they did that and it's cousin which was built in 1896 has it too.I have seen old florida cracker homes with the exact same door.it's a new route.I have talked to the original owner of that home.I posted it on fb to get her to respond as I can't remember the name.

Some people just like that color for front doors.

I've seen all shades of colors used for front doors ... in some cases, I've been glad I couldn't see what color the back doors were!

Yes... when those bright red doors go on sale, people like to buy them.

Years ago, Menards had a sale on a door style/color that wasn't a seller for them. The store had 7 of those doors in stock.... they sold out in 4 days, which the store was very happy about. The price had been reduced by $50 ... which isn't all that big of a discount ... but the doors were marked as 'discontinued,' so people were excited. Go figure.

I can see the Arabic influence. The door underneath the palms is an Arabic shaped door.Im not using a term that I know .just trying to describe it.in other photos you can see it.

Some of the architectural designs and details on the inside of some schools are just breath-taking. Marble floors, scroll work near the ceilings .... amazing thought put into some of the schools.

That was gone before I was born.I think 1975 at the latest

It's sad the building is gone. In my state, a lot of schools that went into disuse were bought by developers, who turned the schools into either apartments or condos.

The county needed a larger high school and a new ,oddly,8th and 9th grade school.which now a ninth grade school. I attended when was called vero beach Jr high school.nathan is going here as well.in my day a plaque was up with the image of the high school.there was an addition that stood to the east long after the original high school was built.to the west there was vero beach elementary.
