That's really interesting, jasonc

In my area, middle schools include grades 6, 7 & 8. Junior highs are grades 7 & 8.

Different areas....different needs.

I had a similar experience when, a few years ago, at a gathering of a few of my fellow classmates, we went through our last yearbook and noted the number of businesses that had gone the way of history. It was bittersweet, that.

I found another red door.that's four.same style. That home is probably young in comparison to the others.it's probaby built in the 50s

ThaT one is too huge to get in one shot.I would have stand by the pool to get same angle all of it in.which is about 50 ft back.

I wasn't talking about the humps on the second photo.it's flat and circular

That is so bizaare it's actually quite fascinating!

Go figure someone's creativity...........
It reminds me of the movie damnation alley. Believe it or not that one is tucked away on the beach.

That design would be great by a beach.

(I've never seen the movie 'Damnation Alley')

Lol.vero has some odd homes from the 50s and 60s.I have yet to post alot of those.the day care one, that is like those homes is yet to be photographed.it was never a home.I have one home in mind on the mall route.who on earth would want a low hanging car port like it has?

View attachment 8424 View attachment 8425 Old grove packing house converted into a home.it was a pineapple grove.the wood fir the barn came from Norway and was I think brought with the Helseth family.it's one of four thar are a part of the old Oslo heritage.the Helseth lived in Oslo and Viking both are ghost towns

Jason,
Thanks for sharing. You have some wonderful pics, and I like that you're so enthusiastic about where you live.

Oh it would be anywhere I go or live.these homes are unique to my area but not these woodframe vernacular. I know your state has them.my mom had me find her child hood home In Nagatuck. MY aunts home is such a home.I think I post it and it's twin here.the last two photos are old home that go back 1896.there is one more to get that is one of the Helseths but has a steeple style trellis .it would be a great home for weddings as is the Hallstrom home and Waldos Garden.
