Perhaps the road commissioner wanted people to pause at this T-intersection to enjoy a moment of reading pleasure? Quite a few signs there..........

Nothing about the house? That isn't on the grid but it's older then me.old grove home.years ago it was this house then the wooden bridge and 58th ave with its aussie pines and power poles .nothing but groves where I was standing and that home in the middle of it.

Settled about the same as Oslo.I'm not sure if ant home of that time still stands .I'm sure some one will point it out if it was.a few days ago I learned several families from the descendents of the early settlers of Gem Island still are here.View attachment 8766

It would have been something else to see the Rio-Mar Club in its heyday. Fabulous postcard!
It was not far from my avatar
You could see both from the golf course

People sure looked different, didn't they?

Will be perusing at different times. Don't worry, I won't be commenting on each picture!
How many do you have anyway stored away in those shoe boxes??

Don't you prefer real prints instead of this digital stuff?

Although it is nice that you could immediately see right away if you need to improve on angle, composition, etc.
It's good for that. I remember so much wasted film for one reason or another. Not wasted, but that it could have been better. Professionals take hundreds and then pick the right one. This method would have cost too much.

It's a moment in time. Frozen forever.

You can FEEL the atmosphere. Makes me feel like I'm there.
