Route pics

The in town route.I had to read today.bad day.walked out a driving area way west .in fact just south of yesterdays photo.this Indian statue has been used in Homecoming

View attachment 9715

Some might consider it 'racist' but I find wooden Indian statues very interesting!

Sorry to learn you had a bad day today :hug

View attachment 9719 Royal palm blvd during a hurricane. I say the 30s .I can pull up the 43 topo to get the exact side of that as its splits in to Royal Palm Place/Blvd.

Wow that's before the Indian River Blvd.I know where that is now. The original one went right to the old wooden Bridge. The loop is where it is still today and the palms west of it are now a church.this was a Royal Palm Farm.

I grew up with it looking like that. tax page says it was built in 1920. the plaque says 1926.

Understandable.

It's fascinating to see how a building - or area - changes over time.
I found one of the older churches still where it is.I knew it was old but not pre Vero Beach and Indian River County.I will photo the church.it's a hyper calvinist church.I played there as a boy.

Off topic my wife took notice of the demolition of big blue as she with her mom went over towards the beach.my mother in law is from Vero.

Now then compare that old image to the more recent one of the diesel plant.

I have one other to post that I found but Is related to the power plant days.I'm nit sure what was stored in it.it was razed 25 years ago along with the water tower I believe.

The plant today looks far better than the older photo of it :wave2
