rip freddy brubaker. you had a talent. that is where I get fuel and it was on the city hall route. the rr thing is to just cause. I saw something in that I didn't realize what I had taken a pic of fully as the sky was beautiful until I posted it. I was mainly seeing the tracks and the traffic arms. they looked like to big sephamores. I was rechecking a read and yes we do get that close. I do wonder what would happen if a train came buy and saw me there. probably nothing as im not too close. the other maps I posted were me trying to find out what ww2 things I had taken a pic of and it helped a lot that is one large map. some of the info isn't all there. as I know the buildings shown were way more then they show. still it is most useful.
Is that the bridge that the Kennedy Space Center is off of?
yes eastern did have a terminal here. where it says hanger it was an old navy tower with the hanger for the eastearn air line. that stopped not much after this map was map. it goes back to the early 20s. I use it to find old things. that is sections of interest. the fields, the rr tracks and the p&w compound and the cisterns and the wharehouse. which isn't mentioned.Great maps!
Had to chuckle about the last map .... the very first ad campaign I put together was for Eastern Air Lines. It was a high school project... we could select which company our project would be for. Since I loved flying even back then, I chose Eastern. Anyway, part of the 'reward' for doing 'A' work on the project, our teacher would send a copy of our work to the designated company with explanation about the project.
I received a letter back from Eastern's corporate office, with a thanks for my interest in their company. And with an open invitation to visit them as a VIP. It was a good time.
lol. you can see me in that reflection.
lord no that is way, way south. google map the barber bridge, vero beach florida. im about 90 to 100 miles south of the cape on A1A. I have driven the entire A1A to about the port of caneveral. as we were going to church sunday. we saw the rocket launch and explode. I didn't think that it exploded as the cloud showed up and I didn't see it break apart I just thought if left line of sight. Is that the bridge that the Kennedy Space Center is off of?
and hatWell, you can see your shirt & your hands/arms with the camera present............
just so you know. I used to take pics of things of this nature years ago. I lost interest until now. the last time I really took any photos of this stuff(not much then of history just odd things I see and plants and homes etc) was back in 1994. my brother said I influenced him years later to start photography. he asked me a few years ago If I have gotten back into it. so thanks to you I might get back into it. I have found he 10mp camera. the pictures of the Hall of Giants was taken with that camera.
I know that. realitors, etc.what I have posted here I have posted on fb in some ways and a ww2 fb page. I will label what I have found that is from ww2 for sure and what was later used by the city. You definitely have an eye that is so necessary with photography.
There are also various businesses that buy photos that they can use, and occasionally, a book publisher will put together a collection of photos in a book. Magazines will usually buy photos, provided they're related to the over-all theme.
Oh OK, it looked like it to me from that angle at least. I also like taking pictures of plants. Mainly of interesting trees in Brazil, which is where I am right now by the way. I really like Florida too, it reminds of Brazil in some ways. I will be back in Florida around the first week in August, but I will be all the way in Design so it may be difficult for us to meet up somewhere.just so you know.
