That dress could possibly sell for $350 - $400 today, depending. (Maybe more, again depending)

Old Victorian-style dresses in relatively good shape have value to them.
Not for sale.there's a need to return. Too many things to photo

Oh, I realize it was merely for display and not for sale.

I can only imagine what all was on display there. I'm surprised they allowed photos.

Most of the big houses in Scotland won't allow photographs/filming at all ... they were getting robbed when pictures were allowed. Crooks took photos of security systems, window locks, etc., to make their effort easier.

Getting somewhere by horses, having to travel an hour just to reach a destination, in those days made for a long day of it. All sorts of weather conditions... not fun!

I have a funny peacock video to show but it has cursing.the peacock was following the van.it was hillarious.

Peacocks are curious critters. I had one follow me around the grounds of Scone Palace, outside of Perth, Scotland. The peacock was white ... and for some reason, decided I was the guest he needed to follow. I hid in the doorway of the Chapel on the grounds.... that peacock was looking all around for me. When I came out of the doorway, the peacock 'talked' as if he was excited to find me. It was really cute.
