'Tis the orange gift giving season! One of the local high schools' organizations sell crates of oranges, oranges & grapefruit. I always order. Can't remember which company, though, but the fruit does indeed come from Florida!

I rather like that gothic church! It definitely has character & personality :thumbsup
they have as they ship them on the truck in the photo bags with labels of the house .

you have seen that before. everyone new thinks that is really an ole one. its not. built in 2005. this was all groves that a former employer of my wife owned .

The architect did a fine job of designing the church to look ancient. It's stunning, and it reminds me of many churches I saw in Scotland (except those churches were several hundreds of years old in most cases)

I will have a few more to post when they are ready. sister to this one an the trinity church.

whoever built this must have use the same style that trinity has in the original sanctuary.

St Marks is another stunning church in architecture.

Just seeing those church pictures makes me long for another trip to Scotland. But I wouldn't even consider making a winter-time trip to the Highlands there. It gets really cold in some areas!

this one two . I thought it wasn't but I saw the vents. this means it was one for sure. they have no other reason for a vent other then for a gas station.

that two story home. its pre ww2 built 1928. up to ww2 that sat on the ole dixie highway

It's rather cool to be able to look at a structure and 'know' that it was a former gas station!

Mighty fine pictures at the links :wave2

those are not current. the car dealership isn't on the photo of it. sometimes I know by my knowledge of what they look like an see where they pulled the tanks up to include the island. I have posted a lot of those photos.

they leave an oval shape in the conkrete when they do.

Oh, I know they aren't current. That's why I separated my comments.
I will post a photo of the ovals in the station. the ole blips its now a tower manufacture place. it is unusual that for the time I has more then one island. one east an west. I remember that as a gas station

2 islands? I'd say that was one busy & successful gas station.

It's sad to not be able to hear all the stories. Those stories are so much a part of the fabric of local history.

Excellent!

Did the lady (who was descended from the builders) provide much information?
