This place has quite a history. In the Peoria area, many people call it 'Zeller Zone I' .... with 'Zeller Zone 2' being in Peoria itself.

The family that bought this former sanitarium/hospital had the financial backing to renovate the property into expensive apartments. However, because of some rather weird occurrences, the family had to keep replacing and/or repairing what had already been taken care of.

While the family are quite sane, as well as the carpenters and aides, some of the incidents simply couldn't be explained.

I have heard of that

I can tell you the building itself is a wonder to behold on the outside. Quite well done & designed.

Inside? Well, it's one thing to be there during daylight hours....with a strong sun shining.

They now offer tours, in an effort to raise more money to continue the renovations. But there's no way I would be inside that building during evening or night...or even on a cloudy day.

We have some haunted places.I have heard waldos, the driftwood inn are.we have a ghost tour of Vero

80 minutes for the tour time.beach only.12 bucks.meets at waldos.some if the things they mention aren't well known to me .the pirates and the Ashley gang .the two other shipwrecks

yes when I take pics such as the hospital I often really cant see the beauty of the clouds. I just snap as they talk to me. the composition of peace is amazing. the sky showing that and the hospital being a place of trials and worries.

It definitely pays to listen & heed when the 'clouds' talk to you! There is such tranquility surrounding the hospital in that photo!

The front of the building, with the columns & railing above, is stunning! (I wouldn't want to clean the windows on the outside, though!)

I will hit up the old remnants of the hospital where I was born tomorrow(not far from the catholic church). I will try to dig up the history of this and post.

Some of the old hospitals were architectural wonders. Like the former Zeller Zone 1, in Bartonville, IL (outside of Peoria).
