most of the canals they mention about vero still are around. the rr track to fellsmere is still locatable I know where it is at but getting to that is the problem. I have a link about that. some of the time frames are different. the main canal is earlier then I thought by a couple of years, the vero community building still stands. it also verified what I said about the old power plant.

I'm going to have to do some searching to see if there's a comparable historical time table for my area as there is for yours.

well that land boom bust makes sense as that is time frame I have for all those Spanish revival homes and edifice. vero has the most of them it seems though its all through out the state. there isn't many in old fort pierce. some but not much. Sebastian doesn't have them in large amounts nor does fellsemere. I have found some in Melbourne and also in other areas. the time frame is 1920-1926

Several years ago I read a book about the building of the Chicago World's Fair. It was very interesting. They had so many setbacks and unforeseens but they managed to pull it off. When you think about the types of big construction equipment and materials we have now compared to what they had then, it was quite a feat to build it in such a short time span.

I had ancestors who attended that World's Fair. Some were from Kansas....some from New York City. It became a family tradition to always have Juicy Fruit gum on hand .... and later, Cream of Wheat became the preferred hot cereal (as opposed to the ancestral oatmeal). Family legend said those two items were a result of the Chicago World's Fair.

theres a sad statement with those birds. the day I took that, there was a funeral. I will not be posting that on fb. yet it is artistic. I don't regret taking that pic. the cross is overpowering death is quite a statement.

next up in order, the pen and flora, the grenada towers, the bell tower of trinity. notice that these are all within walking distance and compliment each other and yet the church is the youngest.

and her apartment that is unattached she also had the anchor of the Bismarck according to local stories in the front of her which would be visible in the first image of her. she also had twins that are torn down. I have seen images of her in black and white. easy to make out with the windows. very unique. none like her. I hope they save this old gal. also I have posted the east view. notice the odd windows. There are structures like that in my part of the world. When taken care of properly, the structures are amazing.
