yes , well I remember when challenger exploded, some heard it and saw it.

We were watching that launch on television... the cameras were doing a fine job of filming. Then we all sat in horrified silence after we realized that the explosion which filled the screen wasn't supposed to happen.

I was at Gifford middle seven(seventh grade) when that happened. i have posted pics of that school. it was unchanged from the days of segregation. its not so easily made out. i know the old section as i have to walk that to get a read but that is it. anyway. i remember seeing the after math as i was in the cafeteria when we were told.

The event was certainly one of those shocking moments that remain with us.

i think 9-11-01 was more shocking. i do remember January, 28th, 1986 well but not as well as 9-11-01

I lost a friend in New York on 9-11-01. I won't be forgetting that day ever.

the pilots were trained in my town :(
that said i will have some pics to post tomorrow. i have a few that i took today to post. one of them you will like. that i will post.

I look forward to seeing the new pics :sohappy
that is one already i have posted. i shall filter the cenotaph ones i took. perhaps only one i can use with his story and park. its not far, well i drive around its triangle shape daily. the bag pipe player is micheal hyde. he is irish. he plays amazing grace. its hard for me to be near that. today was honoring the Korean war vets at veterans island. so i took pics.

The Irish do a fine job with pipes as well :crossed
they should. ye scotts got your from them. and they from the romans and back to the Persians. he is playing the Scottish ones not the lyre used in Ireland. i asked him about that. i will share his picture with mom. she is irish

My maternal grandmother's family were Irish .... my maternal grandfather's ancestors started out in the same family of Irish .... but fortunately, the inbreeding stopped over 700 years ago when my grandfather's ancestors moved across the way to Scotland.

any way i have one Spanish revival home on the route to post, its one of the larger ones. well maintained. typical of its day with a separate garage. it has several to the south of it that i may throw in. i will also include some history with the cenotaph of my choice. with his park image and a home that is probably one the earliest Spanish revival homes. it needs work.

all within walking distance, if one has the legs like i do.
