I might see honesty as that overcoming. Not denial of the obvious.
Galatians 5:17
For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
If any say the above isn't so, I need only to point to the obvious above, and be honest about it as it applies to my own flesh.
If some claim contrary to the above fact, I can only say it stems from that which IS contrary to the Spirit. Nothing personal. It's a common form of deception.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16
If you claim that the above is not true, it only comes from the deception of walking in the flesh.
You seem to be saying you can not control yourself, and you have not power over sin.
Again the remedy is the Holy Spirit, and being filled..,,
For the fruit of the Spirit is self control... Galatians 5:2
