Thats a real nice attempt to mislead there friend but the texts doesnt say Luke gave up his career as a physician.ronniechoate34 said:Yes I have. He left everything to follow Jesus Christ.
Oh good grief.ronniechoate34 said:That's all you got. Medication has done much to destroy this country and that's all you've got.
And if the Spirit of God was the one who showed man how to make the medication to begin with ?ronniechoate34 said:Try the Holy Ghost and see if that doesn't settle your mind.

False distinction, as has been repeatedly pointed out to you and supported with Biblical arguments.Cornelius said:But nobody must condemn those who in faith want the Lord's healing instead of medicine.....

It is a demonstrably Biblical fact that God works through His creation. And one of the ways He does is is through medical technology. Lest I be misrepresented, I am not diminishing the reality of miracles. And sometimes God does "work outside" the natural order and does miraculously heal.
But it is a deep error to think in terms of a choice between medecine on the one hand and faith on the other. To do so shows that one has missed one of the deepest themes in the scripture - In Christ, God is redeeming all things unto Himself. And that includes the institutions of medecine.
Thats pretty funny Steve. I try to bail and then you provoke me with this sort of personal attack...and you wonder why people might react negatively in here sometimes with this sort of belligerent remark ?StoveBolts said:follower of Christ,
I don't understand why you can't seem to find the middle ground. From what I've read of your opinion in this thread, you prefer medicine over faith which for you, may be the best route.
Amen and amen.jasoncran said:it is safe to say that the lord uses both. we must use wisdom when doing the no medicince thing as hompathy has killed as well. remember must drugs are found in nature
StoveBolts said:So you see, I don't think that the topic, "Should Christians take medicine" is as cut and dry as you might think. For some, without medicine would cause death while others, they are just fine. For me, it's a tough question at times.
Grace and peace,
Jeff
I dont condemn you for not taking meds, friend, I condemn your comments that make anyone who DOES take meds as not having faith....such as this one;Cornelius said:Agreed. Nobody must condemn others for taking medicine. But nobody must condemn those who in faith want the Lord's healing instead of medicine.
ie, if I HAD faith then I wouldnt need to take my insulin (if I were diabetic)...and thus you are actively instructing the reader here to 'have faith and stop taking your meds' and thus creating a VERY dangerous environment here.If a person has faith, then its obviously not dangerous, because faith will work.
But....but.....but....you JUST said if we have faith then we'll be ok.Leaving meds because of pressure for any reason, is just stupid and dangerous .
No, YOU must learn them.We must learn the difference between faith in God and faith in the promises.
No friend. God simply has NOT promised what YOU claim that He has.Christians believe in God (have faith in Him) but not all Christians have faith in the promises.
No, all you are standing on is YOUR distortions of the texts. They do not promise that God WILL physically heal EVERY person who has ever lived....Make sure that when we say we are going to believe God for something, we can also present a promise that is in regard to the situation. In that way we can stand on the Word and not be presumptuous

Now,...hopefully the fine folks in this thread will let me leave it.follower of Christ said:.
I want no further part of this thread or this topic.
Its simply too dangerous for some here to be making people thing of they 'trust God' then they'll lay their prescriptions down and 'have faith' instead.
I apologize entirely for even making this thread and bringing this topic up. It was just something I did in response to so many other spam type threads that were going on at the time.
I really wish Id thought about the possible responses before I posted it.

Sorry friend, but even with faith NOT ALL will be healed.
I'll ask you again about those who have lost arms and legs...are you telling us that NOT ONE of them has faith ?
