why does God want some of us to be billionaires?
some of us are in positions to affect many people and have a God given desire to do so - so God gives such people great wealth - blessed to be a blessing

some people get rich WITHOUT God - they do all kinds of wrong things and hurt people because they care for only themselves - don't let such people affect your thinking about wealth - let Godly people affect your ideas about wealth

if you are not given a great passion by God to affect people positively through great wealth you probably don't need to focus on billions of dollars

Africa is a continent rich in natural resources. If the multinational corporations weren't allowed to exploit those resource for their own greed, then the God given natural wealth would serve their own people. But go on, judge the cause of the multinational corporations, regulations are too burdensome, and taxing them unjust. Who needs clean air or water. Praise and glory to the billionaires, may a few scraps fall from their table!


There was an article earlier this year that said the worlds 26 richest people own as much wealth as the poorest 50%. I guess their altruism just doesn't reach that far.

The high majority of people in the USA are lucky to even live in a house and sleep in a bed, even on a couch, and have running water in there house. You don't have walk miles to fill a container. Just be thankful for what you do have.

God only,knows not me,not you,where the rich who are greedy stand.I have worked for myself ,owed taxes,paid my,wife's tax off when she closed her business,they took,my,bonus and i had to claim injured spouse and later on,pay them back.I'm,not,a millionaire .I,have see. Miserly,wealthy and i have seen very giving ones .

we must have a government. my point was not directed at that idea, but rather making a statement against mandated compassion.

surely you see my point with ss, pay 2 dollars and get back half, that's a poor saving plan. I wouldn't keep that. one doesn't have to make much to be forced by the irs to back pay. my wife made 13 grand(self employed) and owed the irs several thousand. the things I learned from that experience.

Chile adopted the system that you propose. Private accounts. Its worked well for the top 20% or so. Not so well for the majority. The majority is in the process of voting to slowly change it back.

We need a system that works for the majority. In a democracy, 80% can outvote the 20%. Even with gerrymandering and an electoral college that make some voters more equal than others.

The big thing with private accounts is bank inflation. Bonds don't keep pace with inflation. Stocks are currently so over valued that they are not expected to keep pace with inflation. What use is it to save a dollar when you are 18 if it loses half of its purchasing power by the time you are 65? If the USA had an honest dollar, then private savings accounts would work. A dollar saved at 18 would still be worth a dollar at 65, plus interest and dividends collected over the years. A good deal.

If private accounts can be inflated away by bankers, they are pointless.
