Sin of yesterday or not...

Homosexuality, what do you think it is?

Um ...antitox, Relic and bibleberean ...I seem to have mislaid my halo. Do any of you guys have a spare one?

You can rant and yell as much as you want to but my stand in regard to my fellow human beings remains the same. I really don't feel the need to apologize or to justify myself to you guys for that. Let GOD do the judging and the changing here. I'm sure that He's more than capable. Should a homosexual or anyone else feel the need for change in their lives, then they need to cast all their cares on to HIM ...NOT you guys. You've possibly got one or two of your own sins to deal with ...although it doesn't appear so according to your posts.

Meanwhile, why don't the three of you concentrate on winning souls to Christ as you were instructed? Hint: your attitude may have to be modified somewhat before that becomes effective. The sin of pride springs to mind even though pride isn't the thread topic. And, to antitox specifically, while probably not as bad as homosexuality (?), pride IS probably equal to adultery. Homosexuality carries more weight than other sins, you say? Now I've heard everything!

To the three of you ...LEAVE THE JUDGING AND THE CHANGING TO GOD! There ...I'm yelling back.
 
As stated clearly and succinctly in my last post...

Can't server two masters.
When a person is living IN the act of homosexual sin, they are in defiance to serving GOD through the LORD Jesus Christ. They are living a lie IF they are not allowing Jesus to be LORD over all they do. When a person is acting out on homosexuality, they are NOT being a servant to Christ. That is like saying he is Not Lord over all they do.

And a person can't be alive to sin if they are alive in Christ Jesus.
If a person is being alive to sin, then that is not living dead to it as the bible explains it to be IF you are TRULY living in Christ Jesus. Living alive to your sins is NOT living alive IN Christ Jesus. Don't' kid your self or others into thinking it is okay to continue to walk in sin.

What do you think it takes to being a Christian, to GIVING your whole life over to Christ Jesus? It surely does not mean you continue on with your sins as if before. If you walk in your sins as if your old nature were still in charge then, how can you take on the new and walk in holiness unto God, being a servant to Him? You have to give up the old in order to walk in the new. You can't have it both ways and then say you are true to Christ. You either walk in your old nature and deny Christ Jesus each time you commit to doing a sin, or you give up your old self and walk in the Newness of Christ Jesus, being dead to your old self. giving up your sin.

Repentance
means to walk away from the sin, to turn away. Not to turn to it and do it. You can't say you are repentant and then not act accordingly. Too many people say one thing and then don't follow through on accountability of what they say. That is in essence denying the truth of what it means to truly and sincerely REPENT. To Turn away from sin. To Go and sin no more. Jesus says to Go and sin no more. He doesn't promote the homosexual act nor does He say to live in sin of any kind.


Book of Romans chapter 6
Dead to Sin, Alive to God

Romans 6:1-23
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: 9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. 10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. 11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. 12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. 13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? 17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. 19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 20 For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. 21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death. 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Where in the above chapter does it say we don't have to give up our sin and in an exchange, to take on being a servant to God unto holiness?

Where in the above chapter dos it say to allow sin to continue and to support the sinner in their decision to continue in sin? Where?

Do you get it yet?


Don't you read that chapter to the homosexuals you know?
Is that too harsh for them? Are they to be excluded from knowing what the scripture says about sin and giving it up, turning away from it, to walk away from it? Is it too harsh to tell the homosexual they too must Repent ?

To love someone is to let them know what sin is and what it is not.

Sin is not Christ Like! If you claim to being a Christ-ian, does that give you the freedom to continue living in sin? GOD FORBID.

Then what's the problem, Sput? All we try to get across around here is that you can't condone things like that or let it run amuck with the blessing of the state. We're not outlawing or legislating controls on the behavior, but we just refuse to bless it with the church's or the state's endorsement..

And now, my long rendition, that was a work in progress, as antitox was responding so shortly and precisely.... Sorry, couldn't keep this one short. I had to let it flow. :P

So here goes....

To sin or not to sin? Are you keeping conscious of yourself? Or just floating from one notion to the next without care of what it leads to?

Those are Questions we must all ask of ourselves!


halo or horns? which to wear? or are you but naked and have no thing but a void in your life? are you wearing confusion? or are you wearing doubt? Are you wearing the full armor of God? or are you acting as a wolf wearing the sheeps clothing? Are you deceiving yourself into thinking God can't redeem you from your sins? Are you fooling yourself in thinking God can't save you from sinning? Why would Jesus then say, Go and Sin no more? Would he say that if he knew we couldn't do it? NO!

We do have the capability to Go and Sin No more!

Are you limiting God?

Um, :roll: You need to ask God, not anyone else about that there halo, No one but God through accepting Jesus as your LORD and SAVIOR from the sins of this world, can hand you that halo.
Only by accepting Christ to live IN you DAILY, can God make you holy. Not me nor anyone else is going to be able to hand you that halo you seem to have lost. Holiness is a result of giving your will over to God and allowing Him to Lord over you. No other way can holiness be IN you but that you allow God's HOLY SPIRIT to live IN you through Christ Jesus In you. Daily. It is not something you you just sit back and think will happen without your giving up your will. You have to give your will over to Christ Jesus and allow Him to Work IN your Life Through you. It is not done any other way. Holiness is a gift, a blessing you must be willing to receive. It's so easy for sinners to accept sin, Why won't they see how easy it is to accept the gift of holiness? Because they can't see past their sins? You think? :roll: Leave your sins behind you. Don't carry them forward. We are not the old person. The person who follows Jesus, does not carry baggage of sin in their arms anymore. They walk washed clean of them. To go and sin no more. That's what happens when you are walking with Jesus, following Him. Your sins are no more. You don't want to sin. The tempter comes, but with Jesus IN your life, You don't act on the sin. Satan gets behind you and you follow Jesus. Not Satan. If you allow Jesus to teach you how to overcome! You will have victory over sin.

We must not forget, the carnal nature is not what we are to walk in anymore. We are dead to it. Remember, Dead to sin... Alive IN Christ? That's doesn't mean we won't be tempted by the devil to sin, But it does mean we are to TURN AWAY from that, and keep focused on Jesus living IN us, through us. Then, how can sin enter into that place of holiness, Christ IN you? It cannot!


Read Luke Chapter 11:1-13 and notice the last verse
Luke 11:13 - If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?



Don't lose sight of Jesus! Focus. Follow Him. Ephesians 6:11-21


John 10:27 - My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

John 12:26 - If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Luke 9:23 - And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.


What a shame that we, at times (and all too many a time), tend toward LIMITITING What GOD is offering. We have to come to a place in which we can accept it, freely, and "take it" as our own, DAILY. Believe it, have faith in it, Use it and work it into our life. The only way that God can enter into our life is IF we give our will over to Him. Without our permission, God does not enter in. That's the freedom he gives to us. To choose what we will. But that doesn't eliminate the consequences of the natural order of things, be them good or evil.
Choose God through Christ living in you. Follow Jesus. Focus, Daily.

Being a Christian is not a part time thing. Nor is being a
Christian just a vicarious thing.


That is a lesson that must be brought to focus, daily. A daily renewing of the mind.

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We who have given our will to the LORDSHIP OF CHRIST JESUS... are a work in progress, DAILY. :bday:


Sin is still sin, no matter what time it is, no matter what day it is, no matter what place you are in. If you reside in sin, you are of it. If you reside in holiness, you are of it. Take you pick, which do you choose to focus on? Jesus or the tempter?


Look to Jesus not anyone else for that transformation and that so called halo you say you lost.


1 Peter 5:1-4
1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. 4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
