It will only profit the ones who comply with Christ.
Men have to make the decision of whether or not to obey Him in order to eventually be saved.

I get the impression that you don't think man has a part to play in his own salvation.

Again You dont believe Christs death redeems them He died for from the slavery of sin and from the slavery of the devil. Thats actually unbelief ! The people Christ died for are sanctified, and perfected forever by His death, even when they are unbelievers, disobedient, in non compliance. Heb 10:10,14

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

So they are already legally saved and perfected forever by His death alone before they become believers, obedient.

He tasted death for every man His death brings to God or Glory Heb 2:9-10

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation
perfect through sufferings.

Those He tasted death for He became the Captain of their Salvation, meaning He saved them, which you deny, that's unbelief
"that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man."

Christ makes believers out of unbelievers, thats part of His Saving Work. If people He died for never become believers in Him, His Death was a failure, which is how you see His death.
I don't see men's rejection of Christ's free gift as a failure on Christ's part.
The gift is out there, for all men.
Very few want it.

Not all of them.
Ananias and Sapphira, for instance.
Herod and Pontius Pilate are a couple more who rejected the gift.
Thats actually unbelief !
I believe Jesus died for all men, without regard to color, caste, nationality, or any other divider of men.
It is you who doesn't believe He tasted death for all men.
The people Christ died for are sanctified, and perfected forever by His death, even when they are unbelievers, disobedient, in non compliance. Heb 10:10,14
Not the ones who refuse the gift.

Without belief and obedience, men are lost.

Yes it is Christs failure if He tasted death for someone and they are lost anyway, so that's what you believe, and its unbelief, you dont believe in Christ yet.

Oh No the people Christ tasted death for, His death sanctified them and perfected them forever. Heb 10:10,14

They are born this way, by the death of Christ, if you dont believe it, its unbelief.

Hopeful 2

Without belief and obedience, men are lost.

Not the men Christ tasted death for, their sins have been purged away by His death Heb 1:3

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

This is true regardless if they are disobedient and reject Christ

3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins,
Jesus purged their sins by himself by not bringing them into judgment for sinning against him.

As all other men need forgiveness and should therefore show forgiveness, Jesus lived that way. Please understand, he himself didn't need forgiveness. He set the example of how we should be like him...because then Paul says,

sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

In other words, he's sitting on the mercy seat where his blood covers the ark of the law. This is Gods' Throne, where he will jbe the Judge of who believed what he said on earth.
This is true regardless if they are disobedient and reject Christ
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God,and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? Heb.10:28-29

Moses said don't bear false witness against your neighbor (Jesus.)
Moses said don't conspire to put the innocent (Jesus) to death.

they repented at the preaching of Jonah and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. Mt.12:41

Yeah, every man He brings to Glory. If a person isnt brought to Glory, then obviously Christ didn't die for them, unless you deny the saving efficacy of Christs death, which you do
Christ died so all men could cast away he flesh and walk in the Spirit.
He died to take away the sin of everybody in the world.
But most of the world rejected Him.
He did His part, but we must do our part too.

I rejoice in the fact that Jesus made it possible for as many as want to, to join Him in His atoning, sanctifying, justifying, consecrating death.

You've got the cart in front of the horse.

I am sure glad that God gave the gift of repentance from sin to us Gentiles too.

Christ died so all men could cast away he flesh and walk in the Spirit.
I believe he died so all men would cast away sinful desires of the flesh. The greed, pride and other sinful desires of the scribes and Pilate nailed him to that cross.

Can you imagine if our Savior, being who he is (Gon on earth) let the sinful human desire for noteriety and fame rule over him? Pilate would have been toast and the high priest with him. High priest was like the President of the country.

So am I. It's amazing how the OT fortold this. It's proof that God exists and that he loves us and wants all people to love each other the way he showed by the example of himself,

because they know not him that sent me. Jn.15:21

Gal 5:24 says it like this..."And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts."
Col 2:11 adds..."In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:"
The old man is gone, (Rom 6:6), and the new creature takes its place.
The greed, pride and other sinful desires of the scribes and Pilate nailed him to that cross.
Actually it was the Mosaic Law that was nailed to His cross..."Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" (Com 2:14)

We all would be "toast".

Yes!

For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. Rom.8:13

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: Col.3:5
Actually it was the Mosaic Law that was nailed to His cross..."Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" (Com 2:14)
I agree. The key is, the law was made only for the guilty

Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless 1Tim.1:9

The law was meant to show us that we're all sinners. Therefore the law was meant for me to point it at myself, not others. Certainly not against God on earth!
We all would be "toast".
Bullseye!

The purging means:

  1. a cleansing from the guilt of sins wrought by the expiatory sacrifice of Christ

They are not guilty , Justified before God ! Doesnt matter their condition !
