THE BAPTISM, with, of, or in, THE HOLY SPIRIT

We are all now baptized into Christ by the Holy Spirit at the time we are saved. This is the one and only one baptism we have during this dispensation.

You speak in tongues Mike? Lay hands on any sick had them recovered? Cast out any devils? Is there any evidence in your life your filled with this powerful witness?

You sound just like Kenneth Hagin and Smith Wigglesworth. Kenneth Hagin was just a Baptist preacher for many years and told everyone that He had all the Holy Spirit the Bible promised. Years wasted because He just refused to think like those nut case Pentecostal people.

Same with Smith Wigglesworth. He would argue with anyone that He had all the Holy Spirit he was going to get. God changed all that for him one day, and It's not on record he raised 19 from the dead and that is just a few things He did after receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Do we really want to be like these Great men of God who put off the Power of God for years?

Are you at the full everything you ever want from God? You satisfied?

I was not, and went after what the Word says I could have. JLB is right, and there is more to get as getting Born again is just the start of the new life.

Mike.

So says you or God? I see no scriptural evidence to support the underlying message your comment implies and that is that all promises were meant for all people.

The answer to your question on Promises is found in two passages of Scripture: 1. John 17:20 "I (Jesus speaking) do not ask for these (Disciples) only, but for those who will believe in me through their word." 2. Gal. 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me."

Since Jesus Christ Himself lives in me, His promises live in me as well! Jesus, in John 17, did not limit His ministry only to the disciples. In other words, a man made dispensation that limits the ministry of Jesus as stopping with the Apostles is simply not true. Jesus clearly extends His ministry and promises through us as the beneficiaries of the Disciples teachings. Christians need to realize that Jesus Christ, through His Spirit lives in us! All that Jesus was and is today is in us. Not only do we need to respect each other because of this fact, but also believe by faith that what He promised before is what He will accomplish today! I will not limit Jesus' ministry through me by unbelief!

My next question, ToT, is why are you not a Christian? Are you seeking? Are you trying to understand the Bible so you can be saved? Quite frankly if you're not seeking Salvation, then your main focus is to argue with those who have found great Joy and freedom in our Savior....Listen, 1 Cor. 2:14 says "The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned". I really don't know you but reading some of your posts of late I see an attitude that I've seen before.

Among other things, I am called by God as an evangelist. The power of the Gospel has been my message to many unbelievers and I have witnessed that power to save the lost of which, by the question of Christianity on your profile you say no, would include you. Just what exactly is holding you back? If others have conversed with you about your Salvation, and you are reluctant to speak further on it, I'll shut up....Your soul's eternal lodging is the most important event of your entire life today.

Yes, let's see that scripture...

The scripture has been given. Hebrews 8:8-13. This is written AFTER the resurrection and says the New Covenant is still future. The writer says the covenant is between God and the house of Israel and the House of Judah. No where does he mention a covenant with the Gentiles here. This is because Gentiles are under the mystery revelation given to Paul. The Bible flows so smoothly when it is rightly divided. Please read the scripture in Hebrews and tell me what it says.

thanks
Mike W

Ill tell you what it says.

13 In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

When did The Lord say a New Covenant?

He declared a New Covenant when He spoke through the mouth of Jeremiah, for that is the only time He said a "New Covenant", in the Old Testament.

At the moment The Lord said a "New Covenant" through the mouth of Jeremiah, at that moment the Old Covenant became obsolete and began growing old until the same Lord said For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

The Old Vanished away with the blood of the New.

If you read the the New Covenant as future to Hebrews 13:8, then it is clear you don't understand.

I don't understand why you don't recognize that when Jesus rose again and is seated with the Father in heaven and states that He is the High Priest of the new Covenant and the elect Church. I have read the eighth chapter of Hebrews, have you read the tenth chapter?

I have never heard of this "mystery revelation" given to Paul. Have you already explained it in a previous post? If not why don't you enlighten me.

I am not arguing but just trying to shed some light on why water baptism has no place in this Dispensation of grace.

Wellllllllllll lets see. Acts 2:37-41 This was the beginning of the early Church in Jerusalem. After preaching the Gospel It says the men asked "what shall we do?" Peter responded "repent and be baptized. It looked like 3,000 believers were BAPTIZED! What in the world do you find wrong with that? Scripture please!

Of course it's future, this is cited from Jer. 31:31-34 This second covenant (Heb. 8:7) comes after the Mosaic covenant (the days are coming v.8) It is established by the Lord (vs 8,13) It is a new covenant (vs 8,13) It is unlike the former covenant of the exodus (vs 9,13) the former covenant failed because of the disobedience of Israel (for they did not continue in my covenant v9.) Edward Said:
I was tempted to raise the dead once, but chickened out.

It's a good thing Brother. My Brother in the Lord at a meeting went to a guy in a Wheel chair, yanked him out of the chair saying, Walk in the name of Jesus. Umm, the guy did not walk but came out of the chair, hit the ground and the chair went down on it's side.

I guess this was a pretty scary experience for the guy that was in the chair, but now on the floor. I had a long talk with my embarrassed Brother afterward and the fact He tried to "OFF" someone in a Wheel Chair under the Authority of Jesus.

I would have asked the Lord first about raising someone from the dead. Once I know, then I am bold. The Lord has had me find complete strangers to talk to them so once we get out of the way the fact the Lord wants to help them more than we can imagine then the fear of "It Not Working" goes away. It's a revelation of the Love of God and just how much He really wants to get involved in people's lives.

If you check out Jairus, What Jairus believed was very important to bringing His loved Daughter back to life. Jesus first words to him after hearing the them tell him His daughter was already dead was "Fear NOT, Only Believe"

I assume if the Lord uses us to raise up dead folk we have to examine the same principles and things.

Blessings.

Mike.

Yeah, I think so. I was not clearly told to do it. Just an inclination. I felt very bad for the family which lost their loved one.

Heb 11:33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
Heb 11:34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Heb 11:35 (Who Through Faith)__Women received their dead raised to life again: ..................................................

Jairus was ready to receive something. The man at gate beautiful looked expecting................ Women through faith received their dead raised to life again.
The Centurion said just speak the Word only and My servant Shall Be healed. (His servant, His authority)
The Women with the issue of Blood said if I just touch the hem of his garment I SHALL be healed....... Shall be.

They had the funeral planed, the casket bought, the Pastor to preach, invited the people. God is not going to be rude and override what People believe. He told them what to believe and it's their choice.

When one of my relatives butted in and went to Chicago to see my son, they told him that there was nothing they could do for my son. It would be but a day or so and my boy would be dead. I kept the doctors reports from my family for a reason because they are full of doubt, worry and unbelief. I did not want to put them trough grief they would not have to go through.

My relative came back, sat me down and wanted to get my son a casket, and make all the arrangements. He told me he would pay for everything, and not to be concerned about it.

I told him I am not going to bury my son, I don't care what the Doctors told you.

If God said it, there is no force on the planet that can change that, unless we don't side with God in Action or words.

Blessings.

Mike.
