It says that THE DAY shone not for a third part of it , And the NIGHT likewise .
Not sun and moon Shone not for third part of it. Meaning that we have gone to a 16 hr day.

This does not suggest the hours in the day are reduced. To use your interpretation, we must account for 1/3 of the day going away and 1/3 of the night also. That would make it an eight hour day.

It is saying the light of the sun, moon and stars are reduced by 1/3. The sun's light (day) and the moon's light (night) are reduced by 1/3. Shone is the past tense of shine. Are the hours in the day reduced during a solar or lunar eclipse, or is it just the light that is reduced?

Darrell, this fouth trumpet is all about darkness falling upon the earth, not reducing the number of hours in the day. You can't interpret it any other way if you read it correctly. Equating this to time doesn't harmonize very well with the many OT passages about End Times and light to darkness.

And Dan. gives the number of days from the mid trib to the end.Dan.12:11
1390 days, and that would be 1/2 of 7 yrs.

But maybe God didn't know that.

This is true. Never argued that point. But I get the impression you see Daniel's entire 70th. week as the Great Tribulation. You didn't get that from scripture because nowhere in the Bible does it suggest this. We are dealing with two seperate and distinct events in the 70th. week; the Great Tribulation, which Jesus tells us about in the Gospels and Revelation and The Day of the Lord, which the Prophets, Luke, Paul and Peter write about.

The reason that there are so many interpertations is a lot of people are not being lead by the Lord.

I recomend what the old Babtist use to call praying through on your own.

I tried reading scripture on my own, but that didn't work, I didn't get anything out of it. Until I told the Lord that He would have to show me.

There is only one truth and all else is a lie, No matter how good it may sound.

In most cases if you were to add ONE word to what the bible says it then is a lie. Truth is absolute with no varance.

Amen to that. The problem we have is; who has the Truth? Just about every Christian on the site and other sites claim to have the Truth.

"...told the Lord"? :o I don't know about you, but I have prayed and meditated for long periods of time for answers, asking God to reveal His truth to me. Especially about matters concerning eschatology.

Vic check your math. 1/3 of 12 is 4 plus 1/3 of 12 another 4, 4+4 = 8 from 24 leaves 16,

Matt 24: 22 says that the days will be shortened , The the great tribulation
Rev. says right after the 4th trumpet, WOE, WOE, WOE Because something greater is going to happen.

Trumpet #3 is a large star if it were to strick the earth in the direction that it is turning it would speed it up making the days shorter.Also burn away the ozone, making the sun burn peoples skin,

now read the 5th trumpet.
and the 4th and 5th vials.

That is how and why the days are shortened.

This how God told me it would happen.

As for the other me telling God he would have to show me ,

This is after He had been telling me to read scripture for about 6 to 8 weeks and me putting him off, all the time I was praying for Him to reveal himself to me for the same 6 to 8 weeks, then he had some thing happen on my job that made me mad enough to attempt to read them on my own.
After trying for another 6 weeks on my own I was flastered because i was not getting anything out of them, still praying that God would reveal himself to me I closed my bible thinking I would try another time, and God said read the scriptures loud enough that I though that it should have been heard 3 or 4 blocks away and shook my house, And my wife said that I was crazy when I asked her if she heard it. THAT IS WHEN I TOLD GOD HE WOULD HAVE TO SHOW ME WHERE AND HOW TO READ IT.
Right after that my wife tells others that I went totaly insain because I would not lay my bible down, and would talk about nothing else.

What Vic said....

The LORD chooses his time to reveal what he wants to reveal and when. It's NOT a matter of "telling" the Lord to give you knowledge.

What do you think about Moses with standing the LORD WHEN he said he was going to destroy the people of Israel on the moutain.

All I can say about what you said is you don't know the Lord as i do.

While the lord was teaching me the bible, satan started useing my wife against me and causing trouble.

And I told the Lord we would not go one more step until this was strightened out , and he told me what the problem was, and i set fire to it and, my wife changed that day.

So you say what you will.

Most of the church knows about God They do not know Him.
Thats the way Israel was when they came out of Eygpt, Moses was the only one that knew Him.the rest knew about him.

I am not sure about this because if you are filled with the Spirit, How far away can He be?

The only way it would take any real time is if your not in fellowship with the Lord.
In sin or to much noise to hear Him. You should get answers as quick as you ask in most cases. If the answer is in the bible and you have read it He will remind you of the scriptures, as fast as you open your mind up to Him.

Otherwise you might have a dream, My wife has had 2 of them about knitting that she asked about.

My dauther inlaw had one about something she asked.

As the bible is laid out, The book of Acts is the beginning of the church and the book of Revelation is the completion of the church,And the books in the middle are for the growth.

The 144,000 are the end of the church, except for those that might live through the tribulation and help repopulate the earth during the thousand year reign of Christ.

The church began with the Jew and will end with the Jew.

Some of us Gentiles were lucky enough to be grafted into the family tree.
