There are good bacteria, and bad bacteria. Sometimes food has bad bacteria in it. Over time, eating food with bad bacteria can cause problems.

In the states, big farms are now using disinfectants on things like lettuce before shipping it to the store.

It's good to have some bad bacteria in the body.
If we become sterile, any bacteria would kill us in the future.
