The Derailing Thread Part Two

So now we're eating disinfectants?

Wash your lettuce well. Then boil it to get rid of any xenobiotic bacteria.

It's good to have some bad bacteria in the body.
If we become sterile, any bacteria would kill us in the future.

Children exposed to mild germs develop antibodies that help them when they get older. Adults don't really need it. The elderly are generally better off minimizing exposure to germs.

The bad bacteria in food are not good for anyone though.

I really agree with the second paragraph.
If I boil lettuce, it won't be lettuce anymore!
Is this going on only in the United States?
What are we doing to ourselves???
A little bug every now and then is acceptable.
An orange that's not so orange is OK with me.
Tomatoes that aren't perfect are what God intended.

You agree?

Some bugs, like hepatitis, are really bad an no one should ever be exposed to them. Especially the elderly.

I prefer orange juice. Much simpler, and easier on the teeth.

My father used to be a Traffic Inspector for the State Government Railways. He would attend derailments when they occurred and report on them. it happened more often one would expect. He would get phone calls at 2.00am every year.

There was a derailed train at my employer's place. A lot of supervisors were standing around looking somber while the train guys did their thing. Just cargo though, not a passenger train. It was about 10:30 PM or so.

There used to be trains where I lived, almost...20 years ago. (Sheesh. That long.) I remember hearing the train whistle often during church services. I don't think one ever derailed though.

of course cargo trains were the ones that mostly got derailed

My brother used to work for Amtrak in LIC, NY.

Trains near my house too. Not too close, but I can hear the rumbling and whistle if I listen carefully.
