The Derailing Thread

No reason to feel stupid. Bill is referring to an old joke for people learning basic Japanese. "Dou itashimashite" is usually translated as "You're welcome" (when someone says thank you). If you say it fast, it sounds like you're saying "Don't touch my mustache".
Ohhhh ok!

My nephew is a muppet lol. He was told by nana 'do not eat of the tree'. So he ate from nanas forbiden ornamental chili tree.

The punishment given was self inflicted, i never seen anyone walk around in circles droowling from the mouth so intensly before. Lol.

My nephew loves spices, he even makes his own chilli sauce and grows his own herbs, and he told me he ate the hottest chilli in the world the other week and it was no problem, yet for some unknown reason nanas chilli tree was hotter. Lol.

I used to grow several varieties of peppers.... with emphasis on hot ! I would carefully cut up the peppers, dry them in the dehydrator, then put them through a pepper mill used only for the peppers. Extreme care had to be taken when working with the peppers ... very hot.
Well, one evening one particular Autumn, I was working on the dried peppers. Kitchen windows were closed....no breeze at all to bother. And then one of my kids came home from dinner at a friend's home. The airflow from the door opening brought enough movement so when I removed the lid from the pepper mill, some of the finely ground pepper dust blew into my face. Suffered a nasty burn on my face from the pepper dust. I would never have believed something like that could happen....but it did.

Lesson learned.

Yea, never underestimate the power of a chili, they can make the mouth bleed.
