Radishes help me when I have heartburn. Serious. Sounds like it would set it on fire, but it's actually an alkaline food, not an acid based food.

Avoid the acid foods if you struggle with heartburn. Use the alkaline foods to avoid heartburn and put the fire out when you do get it. Experiment to find out what works for you.

Neurotic reader in recent years, apparently.

As a kid introverted reader, mainly read books about dogs. Like Lassie Come Home, Where the Red Fern Grows, Big Red, Because of Winn Dixie (about a dog named Winn Dixie).
 
My fourth grade teacher read us where the red fern grows. I love that book.
