There is some great modern music, questdriven ... I so agree with you about that. But there is some music that would be best not recorded.
I can easily recall back in the early 80s, when Michael Jackson was trying to blaze a solo return to the music world with his song "Billy Jean". So many stations didn't bother with it; most music directors at radio stations laughed at Michael's squeaks & eeps. However, power stations in the major markets such as LA, Chicago, New York (for examples) did play the song, which made its way up Casey Casem's charts. The rest is history.
