...by being a manifestation of His Father’s name.
Remember the name that represents the Godhead.
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; Colossians 2:9
Wouldn’t you think God the Father would Name His Son after Himself, with the Name above all names?
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:9-11
Who else would God the Father name His only begotten Son after?
JLB
No J.
I wouldn't think the Father would give the Son His own name.
The Father does not have a "name".
He only has titles.
The only name He could have is Yhwh.
If you want to call God Father Jesus,,,then you're getting the entire Godhead all mixed up.
Jesus DID NOT EXIST before 2,000 years ago.
BEFORE that he was the 2nd person of the Trinity,
He was THE WORD of God,,,,He was the spoken words of God.
John 1:1
The spoken word of God was incarnated 2,000 years ago.
At that point, the word of God became who we call JESUS.
I've said many times that ONLY reading the bible does not explian everything very well...we also have to use theology.
The Godhead consists of:
GOD THE FATHER
GOD THE SON or GOD THE SECOND PERSON, or JESUS
GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT
John 17:6 also speaks of God's name....
but not His name as in Jesus,,,but His name as in His character and attributes. Because God Father does NOT HAVE A NAME.
Many bibles translate John 17:11 totally differently from how you posted it. It does not even speak of a name....but of God Father caring for us.
Read John 17:3:
"This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
The above speaks of 2 .....
YOU...THE ONLY TRUE GOD
AND
JESUS CRHRIST (whom YOU have sent)
It speaks of God Father
And
God Son JESUS.
