The Four Horsemen

Well Coop, if those questions are rhetorical, and you don't have an answer to yours; then I'd say it's all rhetorical and we should start at Genesis 1:1.
I'm assured of one thing, I won't be of any help to you.

Here was my point: "They" were saying that the first horse was the antichrist.
I know that is impossible, if one follows the CONTEXT of the first seal. It was broken about 2000 years TOO SOON to be the antichrist.

Thanks hisvessel1,

Thanks for clearing that up. Here’s how I see it:

Rev.6:2 = white horse = False Prophet who facilitates Antichrist in midst of 70th week

"bow without arrows" = rainbow (Gen. 9: 12-17) = misbranding of God’s token by False Prophet

I realize I’m out on a limb here. I welcome criticism.[/quote]

1. Here you go with that word again [criticism]. How about we disagree?
2.Does the false prophet wear a crown? No he does not.
3.Gen.9: 12 -17 God is talking to Noah. [Noahic Covenant]...No false prophet here that i can see.
4.Antichrist wears the crown. White horse...Rev.6:2
5. The false prophet comes out of the earth, Not the sea..Rev.13:11

There was also Old Testament scripture that spoke of a crown of life.

1 Corinthians 9:25
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Philippians 4:1
Therefore, my brothers, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, that is how you should stand firm in the Lord, dear friends!

1 Thessalonians 2:19
For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown in which we will glory in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes? Is it not you?

2 Timothy 2:5
Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor's crown unless he competes according to the rules.

2 Timothy 4:8
Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Hebrews 2:7
You made him a little lower than the angels; you crowned him with glory and honor

Hebrews 2:9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

1 Peter 5:4
And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

Revelation 2:10
Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Revelation 3:11
I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.

Revelation 4:4
Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads.

Revelation 4:10
the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say:

Revelation 6:2
I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

Revelation 14:14
[ The Harvest of the Earth ] I looked, and there before me was a white cloud, and seated on the cloud was one "like a son of man" with a crown of gold on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. Note: This person is conceiled by a cloud and has only one crown.

Revelation 19:12
His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.

Good job!! You have found many crowns.
Now, can you relate this to the topic at hand: the first seal? Can you give us some commentary?

Yes, I am interested in the intent of the author. I don't know what you are referring to when you say, "Went right over his head". I agree that many are trying to show their theories (see my thread on walking a dangerous road). My intentions were spelled out in wanting to help.
I'm also aware that every explanation can be viewed as "theory" until you walk through all the scripture to the point that it is spelled out so clearly that it is accepted as the answer and the truth.
I don't believe you will solve this. You are stuck in a perspective, looking at it from the wrong direction. Specifically, it has yet to happen is where your stuck. So the only thing I'll offer is that you'll have more luck understanding when you see it as over and done with, the seals are broken and the scroll is open.
1 Cor. 14:32 The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets.
Rev. 19: 10 ....For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Luke 8:17,18 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought into the open. Therefore consider carefully how you listen. Whoever has will be given more; whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.
(All NIV)
The Holy Spirit is the only person who will reveal these mysteries to you, good luck.

Are there any instances in the Bible where 'crown' is used negatively or deceptively? :chin

Yes, Mat 27:29. :D

Actually, after some discussions with Coop about the crown in the first seal, I (and many others here too) believe as Coop does.

the white horse is the manchild. rev 12. The overcommers who ride a white horse like Christ because Christ is in them and they have purified their flesh by the blood and righteousness of Christ by faith.

The white horse could represent the USA.GWB became president in the first month in the first year of this millinium(given a crown).
He went forth conquering and to conqure after peace was taken from the earth by the second rider.
The second is on the red horse(Bin Laden/muslims).

It is said that these two kill each other as it is to this day.

It has been determined that the color white stand for righteousness, and a white horses is a symbol for victory. At this point it would be illogical to assume that the crown means anything other than a crown of life. A white horse has also been linked to America; AKA as the beast out of the Earth. The person would therefore be a Christian living in America. Most likely the strong messenger in Rev 10. It is also a perfect fit for Dan 12.

Revelation 6:2
I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

Zechariah 6:6
The one with the black horses is going toward the north country, the one with the white horses toward the west, and the one with the dappled horses toward the south."

Revelation 19:14
The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.

Revelation 19:8.
Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)

"a conqueror bent on conquest."
Daniel 12:1
"At that time Michael, [the/a] great [prince/Leader] who protects your people, [will arise/make a stand]. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then.

EVen this answer, does not consider the CONTEXT of the first seal, and so is also wrong.

There's No white horse mentioned in Rev.12. The chapter has to do with Israel's history and her future.

I welcome criticism.

So you both will totally IGNORE the context of this first seal?

Coop[/quote]
Well Coop, you're the one who is ignoring the context; not me. One more thing, the color white Is Not mentioned 16 or 17 times in Revelation... :twocents

Do you have trouble counting? Sorry, I was wrong, for white is mentioned twice in two verses: the count is 19.
