The Holy Spirit Does Not Guide You Into All Truth!

`
I'm grateful for my men's group where any
topic can be on the table and is treated with
dignity. We dig deep and hash out some
interesting topics. At least to me they are
interesting.

I guess you mean your men's group at your local church?
If so, that's nice. Its great to have an eyeball-to-eyeball
group out there in "Real World" where you can share a
cup of coffee and a pat on the back with fellow Christians,
while you discuss issues related to the greatest subject
on earth -- the Lord Jesus and His magnificent worldwide
ever-growing-larger Christendom.

You can't even have a decent theology discussion
on this forum without someone getting their undies
all in a knot.

I went back to like this post but it is gone:shrug:shrug:shrug:shrug:shrug

It's still there: http://christianforums.net/Fellowsh...you-into-all-truth.70783/page-11#post-1390480

I remember when I was heavy into the politic board and thought, "this is terrible, everybody fighting about this and that, I'm going to the "Christian" boards"

Then after a while there (in Theology) I thought: "this is terrible, everybody fighting about this and that, I'm going to the politics boards"
:lol

Kidding aside, there are a lot of good discussions in apologetics, theology, and the Bible study. I've had fun in some of the discussions. :shades

John 16:13 However, when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth. For He will not speak on His own, but He will speak what He hears, and He will declare to you what is to come.

People I've talked to always refer to this verse to explain that the Holy Spirit guides people into understanding the Truths of God's word. This has always confused me. That's because I've noticed that throughout my life, Christians have different understandings of what the Bible is saying on any given issue. So what's going on?
Going back to your original post: "What's going on?"
What is going on is that Jesus was speaking to the 11 remaining apostles at the "last supper." (Judas had left to betray Him.) These were the men that He had personally taught for 3 years and who He knew were struggling to understand it all.
When the Holy Spirit cam, He would lead them (those 11) into all truth so that they could "go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you."
