The Lord shows Abraham the future...

Whhhaaat... ?

Then... once that lights up in our mind and heart.. maybe there's a chance.. just maybe.. that the Lord who does know the future... would like His Bride to be (His church, the body of Christ), to know the future as well..

Just a thought...

Don't write me off just yet...

I'm just thinkin out loud..

Jason are you as i am looking forward, looking to the future. Knowing the Lord will resurrect this ol body of flesh and bone...
I believe as Jesus has stated the hour is coming when all who are the graves... I'll get the quote..
Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Believing the scriptures is such a blessing. The hour is coming that glorious last day.
Knowing this hour is coming and knowing I am clothed in His righteousness... Thank you Lord!

Joh 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Dead or alive in this body He is the Resurrection.

Rev 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them
.
Rev 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
Rev 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Wow... what an amazing coincidence.. the exact same think which I and many who embrace the promises of God by FAITH.. believe..

In a future hope that is presently unseen..

At the coming of the Lord in that Day, the Day of the Lord, the Day of Jesus Christ.

Now of utmost importance here is the basis for this future hope (not a false hope as many say) in the promises of God.. and that of course is the absolute foundation of the body of Christ.. everything we rest upon has its basis in the eternal foundation which the Lord established for His church..

The words of the Prophets and the doctrine of the Apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.. with our Lord Jesus Christ surely being its chief cornerstone..

Our every hope and promise of God rests upon this foundation.. and we also need to be careful how we build upon it..

Do we see the very word of God for what it IS... living and powerful and effectual... or will we treat the sword of the Spirit as a lifeless history lesson which has nothing to do with us today ?

Is that how we build upon the foundation of the Apostles.. by dismissing their words as meaningless to us today ?

Some do... and that's where things are heading.. to the day when there shall be a great falling away of the faith once delivered to the saints.. and then shall that man of sin be revealed.. and ultimately destroyed by the brightness of His coming.. in that Day, the Day of the LORD, the Day of Jesus Christ..

And have faith in this..

He that hath begun a good work in you shall perform it until the Day of Jesus Christ.

What happened to the present?

Past present future (was, is , is to come).

With our minds we see all the things Christ has done for us. (present)
With our bodies we serve to law of sin (present)
Now...By presenting the Gospel we prepare others to flee the wrath to come. (unless we are so busy looking at the past and future we have no present lol).

The things WHICH ARE...

IMO it IS important for a Christian to understand what is happening in this present evil world.. The Apostle John reveals this present time to be the things which are..

WE should know that Christ IS now building His church and shall continue to build it until the fulness of the Gentiles come in... that's what the Lord is doing.. delivering men from the power and lies of Satan and translating them into the kingdom of His dear Son..

But that's not all that's happenin..

We should know that Satan IS the god of this present evil world who takes men captive at his will.

That's serious.. and it's real, right now.. the present.. the things WHICH ARE..

Think that there's any deception going on now in the present ? Seen any spiritual battles lately..?

Psa_47:2 For the LORD most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

Psa_97:9 For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

1Jn_5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Exo_19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:

1Pe_2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

The Apostle John reveals this present time to be the things which are..
How anyone can read themselves into the words of the NT 2,000 years later is simply stunning for its hubris.

The same apostle that wrote that everything in the book of Revelation was slated to happen "soon" because the events were "at hand" also wrote that they were living in "the last hour."

A "last hour" that lasts 2,000 years is what futurists would have us believe words like "soon" and "near" mean, thus rewriting the Bible to suit a doctrine that plays to modern arrogance and insecurity like a fiddle.

Futurists are so insecure in their faith that they desperately need to see the events of Revelation play out, and if they don't get affirmation from those not inclined to stroke their carnal egos, they lash out with all kinds of vitriol even going so far as to accuse such people of Satan worship!

Only those so desperately insecure in their own salvation want to make what he wrote all about us living 2,000 years later. The people to whom the apostles wrote don't matter because God only cares about us 2,000 years later, and He would never deign to write them words of encouragement and edification. How could He when it's really all about us?!?

Futurism is a pox on the church and the sooner the church outgrows this childish need to believe it's all about us, the better.

Spiritual wickedness in high places..

I know.. how childish and foolish it is for us to put on the full armour of God.. our miraculous Godly armour to stand against the wiles of the devil and the rulers of the darkness of this world... who would want us to believe that he's nothing more than ancient history..

PUT ON the full armour of God..

I think it's safe to say that some have not used their armour in some time..:) maybe it's stashed away in the closet of forgotten and past things.. who knows.. but if you have it, wear it.. it will save you from falling into the error of the wicked one..

Who roams about as a roaring lion... seeking whom he may devour..

Well... at least that's what I heard from an Apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ..

There are many 'Days of the Lord' in the Bible. Revelation is primarily about the one 'Day' that would most concern John's contemporaries. There is stuff in Revelation that hasn't yet occurred in full, but everything is in motion and advancing towards Jesus' total victory. The trend is positive; the world is being redeemed; so all things are not just going to Hell until Christ comes to us again. Christians that expect a futuristic apocalypse are like murmurers on the way to the promised land.

The ARM of OUR God..

IT's takes a lot of getting used to... swing it around and get the feel of its power.. it's miraculous..

IT speaks perfectly and miraculously in the ancient past.. right now in the present... and this one's tough for some folks to get used to............ the future...

There's clearly no other sword like it.. and every born again believer in our Lord Jesus Christ, has one in their hands..

IT's part of the full Armour of God.. and its purpose is to give you His power to stand against the rulers of the darkness of this world..

story after story...

Some have also pointed out the miraculous fact that the word of God can speak within the context of the past, the present, and the future.. all at the same time..

A wondrous example of this is the ancient story of Abraham sending his eldest servant to find a wife for his only begotten son, Isaac. This was of course after Abraham and Isaac came down from the mountain where the Lord provided Himself a sacrifice..

The servant finds Rebekah at the well of water.. and tells her all about his master's son.. who has inherited all things from his father.. Rebekah leaves all she has and willingly follows the servant on their long journey back to Isaac.. whom they meet in the field at eventide.. and Isaac takes her into his mother's tent and she becomes his wife..

It's miraculous in its living and powerful ability to tell the story of what happened in the past.. what's happening now.. and where it's all heading.. all at the same time..

somehow, scholfiedist assume that the Lord lost his planet and creation and that satan has it now. when god is allowing satan to do what he does.Satan is on leash since job. the story of job is long before isreal was as a nation.!

jews even miss that. they pray during channukah and also passover to the KING of the universe while also looking for a king to restore isreal. to the jews their moshiac need not be worshipped or God. just a blessed ruler that loves God and is blessed by God

Evidently it's fine when someone says that we're insecure, and childish in our salvation... but God forbid using a little sarcasm against their rants..

Nope..

It's perfectly productive when they do it.. just not when anyone who stands against their view..

What is that called now.. ? I forget..

The things which ARE and the things which SHALL BE HERE AFTER...

It's probably next to impossible for anyone to understand the things which shall be hereafter... if they do not understand the things which ARE...

The things which ARE help us to understand the things which SHALL BE HEREAFTER..

Here's a perfect example imo...

To say that the Day of the Lord has ALREADY come, simply shows me that people have no idea concerning the things WHICH ARE.. simply because if they understood the things which ARE.. then they would remain steadfast and not fall into the error of the wicked..

Because let's face it folks... WHO might it be that wants you to believe that THAT DAY has already come...?

Should be painfully obvious unless you have no idea concerning the things which ARE..

Again, which day of the Lord?

Amo 5:18 ¶ Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end [is] it for you? the day of the LORD [is] darkness, and not light.
