The many gods of the Christians

God is not an image in your mind.

Your image of God in your mind is an image of God in your mind. God is something else.

Sounds like you've been reading that garbage book A Course in Miracles.

If you can't understand the fact that our minds are projections of images be them spiritual or material, then you need to go back to school and study the brain, and then study the meaning of Spirit.

God is the essense of all things.

Truth is proven and revealed by the Holy Spirit of God.

.

And what are you beating around the bush about?

Get to the point already. :-?

.

LOL.

You obviously don't get the point that has already been made.

One one had you say God is the essence of all things (panentheism).

On another hand you are arguing that one should worship and serve this image in in your mind?

wrong.

In the first place you are using the word "image" as something other than what we as human beings use as a means to communicate. It is a God given for all people to have "images" as a means to communicate. Otherwise, we would not be able to communicate.

If you don't like the fact that God is the force of all creation then you are not of the Judeo Christian belief that God is the creator of all heaven and earth.
You can call it pantheism if you want. No threat to me.

Isaiah 42:5
Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

Isaiah 45:18-19
18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. 19 I have not spoken in secret, in a dark place of the earth: I said not unto the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain: I the LORD speak righteousness, I declare things that are right.

Isaiah 45:22-24
22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. 23 I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear. 24 Surely, shall one say, in the LORD have I righteousness and strength: even to him shall men come; and all that are incensed against him shall be ashamed.

Colossians 1:16-17
16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Revelation 4:11
11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

IF only people would seek after Him, to follow and obey :sad

However, not all do that. Some are worshipers and lovers of evil. And they are those who are then not in the presence of His "Good" and "Holy" Will, of which, is freely offered to all. But not all will accept it, they therefore, have their judgement day, just the same as those who are judged according to their good deeds and receive appropriately according to laws God created which govern those things. We all have free choice. But no one can escape the consequences of the choices they make.

So what is your point? Are you trying to bring some new age thinking to this forum about what is the meaning of the word "image" ? :-?
What exactly are you trying to prove here?

.

Thanks for the reply to my concern, guys. I suppose I got that out of it as well - I've heard the same thing from a pastor or two. I guess I just couldn't put what I learned into clear thought so it helped to have someone else paraphrase it for me. :bday:
