The many gods of the Christians

OK, I'm going to Hell I guess...

Learn what repentance is all about,

and what Christ-like HOLY Spirit really is.

Accept Christ into your life and follow Him.

Go and Sin no more.

Read your bible and LEARN from the words of the HOLY Spirit.

Why do you focus on the negative spirit? That is not Christ-like.

You are supposed to rebuke that kind of thing.

Read: Ephesians 6:11-21

Learn how to put on the FULL Armor of God,
And know what type of things you are up against.

And know that with Christ, we can do all things "according to" His purpose.
If you go against his purposes, you will be in the wrong type of spirit.

Hell is a place in which there is seperation from God.
You want to be seeking after God's heart, not looking to be seperate from Him. :-?

STUDY YOUR BIBLE. :bday:

My people perish for lack of knowledge.

Learn your scriptures. It's a daily thing! Read every day and study them. You have to let the growing process take place. It's up to you to stick to it. We all have our own responsibility to "give" of ourselves. :D

If you don't give, you don't get.

You get what you give.

Peace,

Not one person in this thread saw it.

Saw what? :o The last post? How do you know? Or was it something else they didn't see? Again, how do you know? :o

Not one person saw what the original post was about... unless someone saw it but didn't say much.

They each have their favorite god to serve. They serve the image of their favorite philosophy about God which they have called "theology" to comfort themselves and in this way have made for themselves images of God to serve.... Baptist, Lutheran, Anglican, Catholic, Watchtower, Mormon, Pentecostal.... these many faiths in knowledge are their idols, many kinds, many gods to serve, and which they call everyone to serve and they teach one another among their own sects to not serve the other gods but to serve only their own. And because they each think their saving faith rests upon believing in these various images of such knowledge, they are trapped and afraid to follow Christ for fear of damnation. They do not see these gods are not Christ and they do not see these images in their minds are gods they have made to serve. And believe it or not Paul, they each accuse one another of following "another Jesus" just as you described to the Corinthians, each insisting their own image in their mind which they serve is the true Jesus."

Interesting,

I happen to be a Southern Baptist who is a CHRISTIAN. I read and study my Bible, learn about various theologies, some of which I learn are not biblical and I reject them. In the end what I believe and worship is Jesus Christ. To be perfectly honest growing up in a Baptist church I was not instructed on how to be a Baptist but how to follow Christ.

I might add that often the idols that people serve today are the idols of the heartâ€â€meaning often people serve what they inordinately want. I have come to learn that wanting something in and of itself is not wrong but when that desire goes above and beyond God it has become a sinful desire.

For me the “right Jesus†is the Jesus of the Bible. Now the reason I consider myself a Southern Baptist and continue to be apart of that denomination is because I agree with its statement of faith and the form of church government that exists for it. Southern Baptists pride themselves on local church autonomy. For those who are interested Southern Baptists generally believe the following: Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

If someone were to ask me who I believe in as my personal Lord and Savior I would say Jesus Christ. If they asked how to becoming a Christian I would proclaim the gospel to them. The point is I believe in the Jesus Christ of the Bible, not the so-called “god of a denomination.ââ¬Â

Noc, I understand your position. My point is that denominations want you to study the Bible the way they want you to. That's the impression I got from their Bible classes and I did not learn much. Those Bible classes became my stumbling block.

This says it all.

Your Jesus is a concept in your head, an image.

It's funny, though, all denominations say they believe the bible. Very ineresting. But they can't all be right because they disagree with each other. So the proof is in the pudding. Anyone who contradicts any scripture does not believe all of the bible. It's that simple. :)

If that concept is based on biblical truth that what is the problem, how is that unbiblical? It seems like you even advocate people not even studying the Bible.

The Jesus you serve is an image in your mind.

The person Jesus would be something else.

And where did you get your last comment from? Or was it just a handy thing for you to throw out there?

I see we are not going to get anywhere. God Bless you.

The Jesus you serve is an image in your mind.

Of course we all have an IMAGE in our minds.

Everything we do in life depends on the IMAGE we have in our minds.

Are you trying to say that many people have a mistaken image of Jesus in their minds?

Of course many people are mistaken. The only way they will come to know God for who he really is, is to continue on and strive to know Him as they continue on in their life. To seek correction where correction is needed. to be humble enough to be willing to learn from their mistakes and to carry onward IN their walk with the Lord.

YOu can't assume that all people are walking around in life with a mistaken or delusioned vision of God.

God's HOly Word PROVES ITSELF TRUE.

And for those who walk IN Christ JESUS, those who walk IN the HOLY SPIRIT witness this TRUTH manifesting in their life.

Have you never had a revelation of Truth in your life?

GOD is LOVE.... YES.

But!

GOD IS TRUTH!

God's truth proves itself.

If we walk misguided, we eventually face a conviction of it being as such.

If we refuse to allow repentance and correction in our lives then truth cannot be manifested/revealed.

Truth comes with submission to it!
Consequences in all things prove the truth of God.

Don't ever forget that God's Word proves itself true.
Truth never goes unrevealed! all sin and misguidedness is revealed... And truth prevails.

Sounds like you've been reading that garbage book A Course in Miracles.

If you can't understand the fact that our minds are projections of images be them spiritual or material, then you need to go back to school and study the brain, and then study the meaning of Spirit.

God is the essense of all things.

Truth is proven and revealed by the Holy Spirit of God.

.

And what are you beating around the bush about?

Get to the point already. :-?
