Truthminder expressed exact sentiment I have been trying to say in such eloquent and organized way.

I would like to urge that you study the Bible especially NT without church interpretation or theologians' influence. Read the New Testament thoroughly without following your church Bible classes. You Bible classes are leading you to believe what they want you to believe.

When I was following the churche's Bible classes I was not learning much, all I got was frustration. When I started to read the NT, ignoring the church Bible study I started learn very quickly. Churches' Bible classes were my stumbling block.

The persecution of those that truly abide in Christ has already begun. It began shortly after His death and will continue until His return. It has wavered in it's severity, but what is WORSE than this persecution is the subversion. Why persecute when they can be 'changed'? Altered to adhere to 'other' doctrines and faiths. This is what we MUST beware of in this time of change.

Upon the advent of tribulations, there will be NO 'decrease of religion'. There will be an increase. The problem will be that those that follow these religions will be following 'false Christs and false Gods'. They will 'believe' that what they follow is the truth, but in fact, it will be the 'truth' twisted into lies.

I absolutely believe what you're saying...The bible warns us over and over what the last days will be like, it's not coming it's here.
Theres going to be an increase of false christians more and more, with just enough truth to sound credible.
Those who refuse to compromise will be the ones hated and persecuted...We see that now, and we see it on forums.
Problem is, the ones with a little truth who are full of pride and pointing their fingers at others for not believing exactly as they do, better take heed unless they fall too.
Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall...
I hate to see that spirit in christians because it repells instead of compells.

I was sad to see just how much a minority we are! I was actually "fortunate" enough not to attend church when I was a child so I wasn't brainwashed by any doctrine. When I became born again, I read the bible and believed all of it. Then when I started going to church, I was shocked to see how many of them disagreed with scripture!

But as Jesus said, toward end times, the "faith of most will grow cold" and Paul says, people "will no longer adhere to sound doctrine but instead surround themselves with a great number of teachers who say what itching ears want to hear." And it's going to get a lot worse as the years go by. So we need to brace ourselves and only believe the bible and not any Tom, Dick, or Harry, who calls himself a pastor.

Amen Heide! But I believe end times started as soon as Jesus dyed for us.

Well I thank God for putting me in a (church) that gave me good teachers who put a solid foundatin under me.
When I was taken out of organized church it was a move of God in my life, it had nothing to do with my great spirituality or knowledge.
Theres going to be apostates and goats in the home churches too.
Where a person geographically sits their behind on sunday morning doesn't make them a better christian than anybody else.
It is to God that a person stands or falls.
Satan isn't leaving a stone unturned, if you think this "home church" movement won't be tested you are mistaken.
Everything that can be shaken will be shaken...and everything that man puts his pride in will fall.

Why put your faith in ANY interpretation? Such things are only there to point you to Christ.

I'm talking about me too gingercat, when I left the church I used to look down on everyone else because of what little bit of knowledge I thought I possessed.
Then through other christian friends and a lesson from God in (grace), I learned that apart from God I am nothing spiritually or otherwise.
It's by grace you have what you have, unmerited favor.
When I figured that out recently it helped me to be a little more merciful and full of grace toward those who might not be where i'm at.

if you read, it was a lot of just building one off the other with little opposition and just kinda congratulating each other and whatnot... cept johnny and free... and maybe you, i wasnt sure. you seemed to get opposition. i just thought it was funny, cause usually i go through these threads (i lurk quite a bit and make small comments like this) and see a lot of (sometimes its just outright fighting) contending for points. But this thread is relatively tranquil.

It's just that I feel like the reason some of the churches out there have went off in left field is because of mans pride.
I see the same thing happening with the home church movement.
It seems God can't intrust us with anything anymore.
I just bailed out of an out of church forum because all I heard was "we have all the answers" and they chewed on the organized church people 24-7.
I thought it was ashame that every time God moves man can't handle what he entrusts us with because of our pride.
Our pride eventually blinds us and we end up worse off than before....except we don't know it because God will remove our ability to see.
This very much includes me.

There are very few people who speak up against organized churches. I have been to many forums and have been ostracized and gang-attacked everywhere I go. I am very lucky I found some people like me in this forum. I am grateful that the moderators here dont kick me out even though someone tried very hard.

You should not feel sorry for yourself, dear. We, homechurched people, speak up in the forums and are a minority.

Man are there egos in this thread! We need to get off egos and concentrate on what the bible says. If scripture shows us we are wrong, then admit it, instead of this one-upmanship and game-playing. Only the truth will set us free, not name-calling, bickering and playing one person against another. How can we possibly witness to unbelievers with all of this going on? :o

We need to stand up for the truth of the gospel over anyone who disagrees with it. hate the sin, not the sinner.
