The Pagan Easter

Question with no strings or arguments attached (in other words I'm asking to satisfy my curiosity regarding people's thoughts):
Do you it's wrong to find Greek mythology interesting despite it being about pagan gods?
I think there is a lot of truth in it. And it is very interesting.

Edit: I think that it was real. Not that there is a lot of "truth" in it.

Watch it JLB
You will be called a non christian trying to accuse someone.
Stirring up trouble, its OK though to condemn Jehovah witnesses and mormons, but don' t talk about pagan holidays.
Who called you a non-Christian? That's not allowed on this site, it's against the rules, as it should be.

No, it was very much a part of various culturals. If you study much of ancient history you can't avoid it really.

Seems everything has some kind of pagan connection. I wouldn't be one bit surprised if April Fools did, too. And I just pulled an April Fools prank today.

I would ask that we try to keep the discussion to a fairly relaxed level, this is the lounge. :)

Come on guys, it is our Lords resurrection day coming up. I find myself being disturbed and upset in my Spirit. I get all fired up when the religious crowd comes in with their accusations too. But go to rebas thread and share some good experiences and stories about easter dinners, family moments, touching stories. I am going over to her thread and hope to see some of Jesus Glory over there.

Well Reba
You're right, but I didn't slam anyone in particular, some accuse me of doing that.
I could care less how anybody celebrates the holiday, that is between them and God, but for me and my house, we read scriptures, and seek, what Easter is.
It is only in the Bible once, and it should had been translated, Passover.
Acts 12:4
Strong's #3957 pascha, Passover, the festival or the special sacrifices connected with it.
Jesus was that sacrificial Lamb.
People here has a computer, look it up!
Even in the dictionary it saids a pagan holiday.
Look up Ishtar,
Seek.

Religious crowd?
Well, I guess I could be called worse.
My spirit is fine, celebrate like you want, so will I.

Yet no one says nothing Of your name calling.
Go figure.
Jesus's glory is here, but you just don't want to see it.
Truth is His glory, not talking about Easter dinners.

Keep in mind there are those that have said some stuff in the wrong attitude before, and this is such a subject. So everybody's guard is going to be up. Add that to the fact that tone is hard to read just from text, and wordlessly quoting a scripture in response to a question is a lot less personal and can come across as purposeful condemnation. Because you don't know if the poster is trying to say "this is what the Bible says and you're not a Christian if you disagree" or "I believe this scripture makes this practice a definite no. It's not something to break fellowship over, though."

Honestly, I wasn't really following what you said. I was thinking the tide guy.

I apologize if I upset you.

The Bible I use the most says passover.
Act 12:4 whom also having seized, he did put in prison, having delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to guard him, intending after the passover to bring him forth to the people.

What I have learned from this thread so far is that nobody celebrates the pagan Ishtar holiday. Everyone that has posted so far does believe that Jesus rose from the grave. One of the things people say that makes Christianity stand out from other religions is that our God is alive.

Look at post 25, in a round about way.
This is why eternal security is PARAMOUNT in the believers life. The whole bible and every comment will be a threat on our Christianity or salvation if we don't BELIEVE in our eternal security. I know you think I am Crazy. And everything is about eternal security. Honestly, after salvation, eternal security is A NUMBER ONE in the Christians life to advance in the spiritual life.

You accused every Christian who goes to a sunrise service when you equated the scripture you posted about worshiping false gods with Christian sunrise services. You made that very obvious. That was not posting your belief, that was accusing those who go to sunrise services of worshiping tamuz, a false god.

Actually all she did was post scripture that referenced a sunrise service. A service that was referred to as an abomination. She made no accusations. With the exception of "Also" and "Sunrise service?", everything else is scripture. Where's the accusation?

The answer to her question, "Sunrise service?" is yes. What Ezekiel described is a sunrise service.

Ezekiel 8
15 Then said he unto me, Hast thou seen this, O son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations than these.
16 And he brought me into the inner court of the Lord's house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of theLord, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the Lord, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

I believe in my eternal security, because I seek, and see what is pleasing to my Lord.
Try to do what is right in His eyes.
In my spirit when I read things in His word, I try to follow and obey.
First commandment, love God with all your heart and mind.
Have no other gods before me.
Love thy neighbor as thyself.
When the tribulation comes, I'm armed and ready, I won't be deceived by the false one.
I will remain a virgin bride.
Hope you do also, so you will keep your salvation.
Don't receive Satan's mark!
I love you and all, thus try to warn.

With my love and concern

Semantics regarding other members aside, the question to discuss would be this:
Is using something that was once a pagan practice participating in a pagan religion, and is it possible to worship a pagan god unintentionally? Without even knowing this god ever existed in ancient minds?

I will not argue one way or the other, just trying to keep the thread on track.
