The Passover of God

There you go again. Always looking to the scripture, looking to find something that you might use to accuse of false doctrine. But apparently that is all that you are interested in; false doctrines. You have your knowledge that comes from the scripture, and it is knowledge that you hold in unrighteousness because it does not come by faith (Rom 1:18). Tell me, how can you hear the Spirit of the Word of God when you sit in judgement over the word of God?

You think you have found something that proves me wrong, but all along I have been talking about the coming of the Spirit of the Lord in accordance with His Promises, so please explain the contradiction then when we read in the scriptures that all these died in the faith not having received the promises?

Hebrews 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

What you stated is: -

I could say that Moses had the Spirit of the Lord. Samuel had the Spirit of the Lord. David had the Spirit of the Lord, as did Isaiah, Jeremiah and the other of the prophets. John the Baptist had the Spirit of the Lord. But in each case they were anointed with the Spirit of the Lord and the Spirit did rest upon them like a mantle, but the one thing these all had in common was the Spirit of the Lord did not dwell within them, as they were still separated from the Lord.

...but the one thing these all had in common was the Spirit of the Lord did not dwell within them.

Again, here is my answer, from the scriptures, to your false statement.

They had the Spirit within them.

10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, 11 searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 1 Peter 1:10-11

But you are playing games. You're throwing all these distractions out instead of addressing the exact thing that is preventing your opponent from accepting what you claim you have received from God.

See? A distraction designed to keep us talking about something else instead of the passage you should be addressing because it is the one that prevents me from accepting what you teach.

All by itself, improperly divided out from the whole of scripture, one could argue that the second coming of Christ is a spiritual coming that has already happened, not a physical one yet to come, by this passage:

16 "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot * receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you. 18 "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 "After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20 "In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you." (John 14: 16-20 NASB)

So, you can rely on this as a diversion from talking about the passage that makes it so we can't interpret this as meaning Christ's return is a spiritual return, not a physical one, or you can directly address what is in my mind (the mind that needs convincing) the passage that negates your interpretation that Christ's return is a spiritual one and has already happened:

9 For they themselves report about us what kind of a reception we had with you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve a living and true God, 10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come. (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10 NASB)

Since this is the sticking point for me, this is what you need to address directly if you want to convince me that the spiritual revelation you have received is the truth.

2 Peter 3:16 New International Version

He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.

Love one another in Christ is the most important thing as a Christian.

1 Corinthians 13:2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

Hebrews 10:35-38 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry. Now the just shall live by faith:but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Which promise(s)?
The promise of the Spirit is already here, so we know he' s not talking about that, but something future.

I agree with this so much, that words can't express just how much!
Perfectly worded. Would not change a single syllable.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Acts 1:4-5 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.

Acts 2:39-40 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

39 "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." 50 And He led them out as far as Bethany, and He lifted up His hands and blessed them. 51 While He was blessing them, He parted from them and was carried up into heaven. (Luke 24:39,50-51 NASB)

9 And after He had said these things, He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
11 They also said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven." (Acts 1:9,11 NASB)

A flesh bodied Jesus will be returning "in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven". Just before he left them he said he's sending the Holy Spirit "not many days from now". In the passage, Jesus distinguishes between the time when he sends the Holy Spirit (a few days from now) and a time unknown when he restores the kingdom to Israel. The point being, the coming of the Spirit, and the return of Jesus in the setting up of the kingdom are two different things, not the same as being argued in this thread:

4 ...He commanded them not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised, "Which," He said, "you heard of from Me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now *." 6 So when they had come together, they were asking Him, saying, "Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?" 7 He said to them, "It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority... (Acts 1:4-7 NASB)

Paul speaks of this future return of the resurrected body of Christ, and the restoration of the kingdom here:

20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. 21 For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at His coming, 24 then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father... (1 Corinthians 15:20-24 NASB)

Christ has already been raised from the dead and appeared to the Disciples in his resurrected body ("it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." Luke 24:39 NASB). Paul tells that we, also, will receive our resurrected bodies at his coming. If his coming was when the Holy Spirit came to us then we'd have our resurrected bodies now.
