I think it is possible that the Reverend Father Martin Luther perhaps had the right idea but went about it the wrong way, trying to make too many changes too fast and the Church hierarchy wasn't ready or open to it. In fact, in my opinion change in the Church should come slowly and with careful consideration for we must take care to not be tossed about on the winds of doctrine as Paul put it.

How do you know so much?
I've been Born again for 58 Years, I'm officially "Roman Catholic" (since I was baptized as one, although never "confirmed") I've had 58 years to study the beliefs and Traditions of the Roman Catholic Church (among many other Denominations), I've read extensively, and easily recognize the paganism, and departures from Biblical teaching in the foolishness that they teach for "doctrine". Roman Catholicism is essentially a "Salvation by WORKS" religious system, which is exactly why Luther kicked off the Reformation to resore the Biblical "Salvation BY FAITH" theology. He WANTED to restore his beloved Catholic Church to the truth, and the MIRACLE IS that they weren't able to murder him for trying.

LOL - coffee always helps!

Which faction decides who's right???

And, yes, hawkman,,,NOW you understand the O.P. !

Someone should have the authority to state that The Passion (Bible) is not legitimate and that it shouldn't be used.
Someone should have the authority to state whether or not OSAS is a correct doctrine. (teaching).
etc.

If the Holy Spirit were the leader...why do we all believe something different??
Are you serious?
Why do you think we have an ecumenical council?

I believe one such denomination is the one I've been battling (I will no longer name them). They seem to be untouchable and have the apparent blessings of law enforcement, government at every level and corporate/media empowerment to do and teach the latest socially acceptable propaganda whenever/however they please.
You must be from England

So do you think it's true that all roman catholics are going to hell?
Do you think you could learn anything from a roman catholic?
How long have you been on this vendetta against the roman catholic church?
Do you see any relief in your spirit from denouncing them continually?

So do you think it's true that all roman catholics are going to hell?
Nope, there are Roman Catholics who are Born Again Christians. I worshiped with a lot of 'em during the '70s.
AND there are Roman Catholics that are nothing but "Roman Catholics" and don't have a CLUE about what a Christian even is.
Do you think you could learn anything from a roman catholic?
Nope - their Denominations aren't Biblical. They have NOTHING to teach me.

As long as I understood their errors - probably 70 years now. Growing up among Catholics, and seeing how "Spiritual" they ACTUALLY were Started it off (Live however you want, and get the nice Priest to "blow it off" in confession), and when I Actually got Born Again, and got SPiritual understanding, then Speaking the truth about the Roman church system is just NORMAL for me. Hopefully I've planted some seeds of doubt, that will cause folks to seek the TRUTH.

Bob, what about those roman catholics you say you worshipped with?
Do you think they want to hear you bash them even now in 2021?
Where is the love?
Jesus loves them.
Did you know that?

Did you know that I could say a lot of bad things about the assemblies of God if I wanted to?
Was a member there once.
But God doesn't want me to do that.
Do you think you could talk about roman catholics "with love" rather than with "anger and shouting"?
I bet more people would listen.

If you haven't gotten over the roman catholic church by now, it's time to give it to God and be free from it.

WE didn't worship as "Catholic" / "Protesant" - we worshipped as Born Again Christians, which had nothing to do with either of our Denominations (the '70s were a different time when the UNIMPORTANCE of denominational theology was made clear to us all).
Did you know that I could say a lot of bad things about the assemblies of God if I wanted to?
And I'll guarantee that you wouldn't come up with anything that would be "news" to me at all.

I'm a MEMBER of the Assemblies of God, been one for most of the last 58 years, but I'm not "Defined" theologically by them. BUT HEY!!!! Their MISSIONARY activities are second to none in the world. And the new Pope doesn't see the necessity of even evangelizing Jews, or Islamics.

Wow.

No wonder catholics feel so unwelcome among their brethren!

Where is the love?

And why don't Protestants know church history?

Why do catholics feel unwelcome?. I have nothing against catholic individuals and i still see catholics as brethren i just dont think the organisation itself is very straight, and that being said i believe the same goes for many non catholic churches as well.

Im just a individual non denominaional believer in Christ.

Well, you're a nice individual Dan...
But some just concentrate too much on doctrine instead of having a conversation.

I think Catholics should be treated like anyone else with whom we don't agree fully.
They have most doctrine right....no denomination is perfect.

It would either be them....
or those that do NOT like that version!

I'm hoping those that do NOT like it....
I think Bob Carrabio would make a good protestant pope.
What do you think Bob?

What do catholics believe that other christians dont believe?. I dont even know. I dont think anyone fully agree with everyone on everything but the fundation and salvation is the same belief. Thats the main thing.

I think the catholic church has some practices im not a fan of like human mediators instead of going directly to Christ as mediator and High priest, and lots of idols and statues in Gods house but anyhow i dont take part in it.

But when it comes to the Gospel, doctrine is of utmost importance...

Galatians 1:8-9 But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed! NASB

[8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach a gospel to you besides that which we have preached to you, let him be anathema. [9] As we said before, so now I say again: If any one preach to you a gospel, besides that which you have received, let him be anathema. Douay

That's one area we don't want to get wrong.

Deuteronomy 32:2 (KJV) My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

Proverbs 4:2 (KJV) For I give you good doctrine, forsake ye not my law.

Isaiah 28:9 (KJV) Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

Mark 4:2 (KJV) And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

Mark 11:18 (KJV) And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.

Ephesians 4:14 (KJV) That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

2 Timothy 3:10 (KJV) But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,

2 Timothy 3:16 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2 Timothy 4:2 (KJV) Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

What is the order?.

Is it the regular person, then decon, then priest, then bishop, then pope?.I just know of those names but not sure what role they all play in church, well only that the pope is the Leader. Wat is the pope? Is he high priest or is he high bishop?. I dont know how it all works.
