The Ramble On thread

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with a bit of a cooling down period. Hot heads can say things in the heat of the moment that aren't for the best. We need to remember we are here to promote CHRIST, not to solely bash another religion.

Thank you Sara! :smt023

Hey there everyone :smt023 I wanted to know if anybody here ever listens to Pastor Pancho Juarez from Calvary chapel Montebello? He is so Awsome. I'll listen to him online before I go to service at my church on Sunday mornings. I can certainly relate to his style of preaching, If I lived there I probably would go to his church! :D

I have been to his church to visit a few times...He does have a very unique ministry and is biblically sound...He is another disciple of Chuck Smith whom I hold in high regard..

Perhaps we can announce it here although I doubt many know of this thread.
Yeah, but I know Keith also made a thread in the STICKY about it.

NOTE:

I've been way too stressed out lately. Too much war and rumors of war, too much negative news, murders in town, foreclosures etc. The people of Cleveland needs your prayers!

Too many immoral people who thrive on perversion, fornication and gluttony/selfishness/greed. The city of Clevelands' population went from over One million people down to 450,000 and still slowly dropping. Crime has soared and the housing market is a shambles. This city is one of the those that is in the highest rate of foreclosures in the country. People look at Cleveland as a great place to visit (downtown sports and special events) but who wants to live here anymore? Literally Half the town has moved to the suburbs. We've lost half of the population due to the punks who run loose in the streets and have made our streets unsafe to walk. Something must be done to revive ourneighborhoods!!!!!

How does a city recoup from all the deterioration and gangbang'n attitude that has gone on for too long? I've become so very weary from it all along with all that is happening in the world.

Is it just old age creeping in on me?
Is it true that the older a person gets the more weary they become from all the corruption in the world?

Where is the refreshing? Lord I pray for at least a tiny glimpse of it. Lord, I need the vision, because where I stand now it seems like a stand still in the muck and mire of a horrible mess.

I Need to focus more on praise and Thanks & giving!!!!

Hold onto Hope! Keep the Faith!

Pray for peace! Pray for revival!

I pray the Lord show His Glory Speedily!!!

Please pray for a revival in our town!

The hope for Ohio and the country lays in our children through the Grace and Power of the Lord.

Children - The Heritage of the Lord

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off - for all whom the Lord our God will call."

Acts 2:38,39 NIV

Isaiah 44:3 NASB

Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD;
that walketh in his ways.
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands:
happy shalt thou be,
and it shall be well with thee.

Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine
by the sides of thine house:
thy children like olive plants
round about thy table.

Stand Firm, Relic and God Bless.

It's easy to get stressed out on local and world events, Relic. Sometimes I have to go for long stretches without watching the news or reading a lot of negative things. Not that I'm burying my head in the sand but because it's just not good to feed on that stuff all the time.
We need to strike a balance on being informed and ....

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthyâ€â€meditate on these things

I pray a refreshing and a time of renewal for ya, sis!

Thank you Christian soldier and Destiny for your encouragement. After I posted how stressed I've been feeling and read your postings, reminded me what stance I must have, to where I should be... standing firm, holding my ground in Christ Jesus, and yes, I do have to focus on Phillipians 4:8 now more than ever. I read through some devotionals I get in the email and one of them gave an example of how the devil comes to attack us.

Tricking Houdini

During his life, Harry Houdini had a standing challenge that he could escape from any jail cell within an hour. A small town in the British Isles had just constructed a new jail cell they thought was escape-proof, and they wanted to put it to the test. Houdini entered the cell and immediately went to work. After two grueling hoursâ€â€an hour past his deadlineâ€â€Houdini finally withdrew his file from the lock and leaned against the door in exhaustion. To his amazement, the cell door swung open.

The jailors had tricked the great magician by closing the jail door but never bolting the lock. He was free all along, he just didn't know it.

Satan has the same strategy, doesn't he? His greatest weapon is to make us think that we are trapped, when in reality the cell door is always open. Satan can't bind us, so he tricks us into making us believe the cell door is locked.

Satan knows he can't use me to sin in certain ways anymore! So what did he do? He attacked me where I am most sensitive in regards to my community. He did use the weapon of making me think I was trapped in a horrible situation and that getting out of it was very slow in coming, if at all. That vexing spirit veered my attention away from the "full" assurance I must stand firm on in knowing that it's all in God's timing, and nothing is impossible for those who are called according to His purpose. Satan veered my thoughts into the ugliness around, and I got caught up in it, started to complain, felt so helpless and lost focus on the goal. His weapon was to place that forbidden fruit of discouragment/discouraging thoughts in front of me. I bit the bait! :-? What that devil's discouragement did to me was make me focus too much on the problem! rather than on the solution(s).

When times are "feeling" tough, that is a sure signal for me to reach out and give more where I am able, and to be rest assured that Chirst is not late in his coming! Discouragement doesn't help, it hinders my spirit!

I do need to stop watching and reading the news. And keep my hope in the Lord. I've changed my focus from the bad news onto prayer and standing firm on the 'Holy' Word of God, and getting more involved in helping those around me, more than ever.

Thankyou both for helping me get back on track . :fadein:

Today I stayed away from the news! :D
But now.... I wonder what's going on.... :o

Yoy! I better not give in! Because you are right Destiny! I need a break from it!

I loved the Tricking Houdini analogy, Relic! That is exactly how satan works, he tricks us into making us think we are trapped when all along God has given us freedom. We are the ones who have to make sure that we don't give the devil an inroad to deceive us. This can happen if we lose our balance and feed on the wrong things ((too much)).
Stand firm, girl, and don't touch that dial!! :-D
