Why? What makes it attractive to you? There's a show on TV about building tiny houses that my husband and I like to watch. They are pretty cool and I would love to live in one. When we bought our 32ft camper this summer we would love to permanently live in it, but have no running water or septic at our camp. I'm all in for downsizing.
Spring Hill was cut right into the wild off of hwy 19 by some development brothers in the late sixties. You won't even find a road that is older than 50 years in that place if I'm not mistaken. Look at it now.Lack of old homes?
They didn't even start building homes here until the 1960's.
I've heard St. Augustine is quite the place for old historical buildings. If you own one of them you can't even change a light bulb without getting a permit.View attachment 5013
lack? you haven't been in vero or ft.pierce. they are there. here. this pic is dated I believe tween the late 1890's to the latest 1925. the building in the background I think still stands and this rr passenger building was left to rot and was restored after being at the same location and use from the late 1890's to 1973. it hasn't been changed that much.
I also wondered if the locals had to repair their historical homes if they had to meet an extra code or twoI've heard St. Augustine is quite the place for old historical buildings. If you own one of them you can't even change a light bulb without getting a permit.

Yes, people are more afraid of long term debt these days. I heard that the economy has not fully recovered because young people aren't buying the houses they would have. Why should they, given the horrible crash we just went through? Many people can't afford $350k McMansions, and builders in many areas are not allowed to build the $60k Levitt style homes that our parents sojourned in. Micro homes are an attempt to find an affordable abode.
Brand new Levitt homes sold for the CPI equivalent of 60 to 70k. People have to go micro or manufactured to find something in a similar price range today. The bank's hidden inflation is out of control. Home inflation, education inflation, etc... bear no resemblance to the CPI, and are affecting youngsters today. They go micro out of desperation. Same thing in parts of Japan.

And the person who dies with the most toys wins....hu?Here's a picture of Jethro's 4000 sq ft garage next to his 100 sq ft home.

in my post with the rr passenger station the bldg. in the background still stands it is what I thought it was. its an aparment with weekly and daily and monthly rentals.it hasn't changed at all. just without the roads there and the building in the way to block that view it was really close. now I will be shotgun home hunting while working. I can post the older mansions from the 20's and those are wooden and small compared to the newest ones.our home is old for California built about 1890..
Crosby Stills and Nash. Some of my favorite music."Our House"
I'll light the fire, you place the flowers in the vase that you bought today.
Staring at the fire for hours and hours while I listen to you
Play your love songs all night long for me, only for me.
Come to me now and rest your head for just five minutes, everything is good.
Such a cozy room, the windows are illuminated by the
Sunshine through them, fiery gems for you, only for you.
Our house is a very, very fine house with two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard,
Now everything is easy cause of you and our la, la, la:

From a spiritual point of view, I think they 'hit home'.What do you think about this from a spiritual and practical point of view?

You live on a boat ?Hey, by their definition I live in a "tiny home" and have for about the last 5 years! Mine just floats. I like it and should have made the move years earlier than I did. My neighbors are the same and they've been living in theirs for about 20 years now. Just got my insurance renewal bill too. $80 for the next year.![]()
$80.00? Hmmm....how did this slip through the cracks? I'll see what I can do about that. Let's see if we can't get you into something even smaller, and in this case, raise your premium at least 50%.Hey, by their definition I live in a "tiny home" and have for about the last 5 years!
