Tithing Again

So, to make things even more clear as mud, that more than indicates we are to use our own tithes for ourselves.

Now what?

That was only the 2nd tithe Kenny. The 1st tithe went to support the Levites. The other tribes were forbidden to eat the 1st tithe. The 2nd tithe was to be eaten only on the 3 annual pilgrimages שלוש רגלים to the Temple. The 3rd tithe was for the poor, local Levites distant to the Temple, and such.

And the LORD called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying, 2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.

So, why are we neglecting to mention many of the verses quoted here pretty much all pertain to the Children of Isreal?

I heard Rod Parslay once say to his congregation "Don't you want to be the children of Isreal?" Knowing him, I can guess where he was headed with that one.

I personally couldn't be one of the true Children of Isreal if tried. So what naturally follows is none of that pertains to me with the exception of the 10 commandments..... why the commandments? Because Jesus said so. Am I wrong?

OK, thank you. I'm sure if I checked that out, I'd find you are right.

Now tell me why this pertains to me when these laws were all given to someone else?

I watched the videos and that's exactly what I was afraid of, ILove. One could fairly easily read it between the lines of your posts.

And FWIW, you didn't help your case, not as far as I'm concerned. Notice Stanly gave no biblical reason for the tithe, just faith that it will do us some good if we give it.

I used to like Charles Stanley up until a year or so ago, but won't go into that. Anyway, it's easy to tell others their tithe will be returned if they have faith when you are the one running a TV business and taking that tithe and it's your bank account that's getting fat. As I see it, his return is not due to faith in God, but faith in the best advertising media on the planet...TV.

I wouldn't blame you if you did, but all I say to you is out of concern so, please don't think too badly of me, ILove.

Local churches teach that but I have seen that when I have tithed. However,blessings aren't always money.

This is the first I ran across on youtube with the search terms "Biblical tithe" I think it's a tree part series, I just watched this, the first part. The author is clear and easy to listen too and there are several other vids on the page that might be helpful...I haven't viewed them as of yet.

And another short one from a different author that says a lot that was mentioned here but pulls it all together much better than I did.

I love youtube, a lot of bad, but a lot of truth too, we just have to find it and be willing to at least listen.

But there is no high priest to tithe. Who do you tithe. Just give money away to someone else who is going to freely spend it how they please and call it a blessing?. Or pay a church for reading you the bible once a week?.

Apart from a individual who needs help i cant see anyone worthy in this world of my tithe. Only Christ as high priest but hes not here.

I just said Jesus is High Priest and hes not here so i cant give him my tithe and there is no other name under heaven who is worthy of it. I cant materially tithe a Holy Spirt can i?. How is my mind closed?. I have a open mind thats why im careful with where a tithe should go. If you think the chuch today is anything like the first church you may need to re read some scripture. Everyone gave to Peter and Peter divided to all who needed what. Tell me if that is anything like todays churches.

Ok. Lets just agree to disagree on the issue of a tithe and not let it divide any further. We agree Jesus is High Priest so we should leave it there.

The Lord reportedly appeared to seven Columbian youths in 1995 and took them on a tour of Hell. There is a whole pool of fire just for those who spoke against tithing.

visions? really a place in gehenna. I don't base doctrine on visions.

so our kids that get saved should tithe, where do they get the money to tithe if the parent doesn't give them an allowance ?or isn't able to?
I don't recall tithing, being a cardinal command upon the level of baptism, communion and repentance.
