This is correct. As the treasurer of our church, one of my tasks is to provide a year-end report to those who contributed for their records. In the US, contributions to a church are tax deductible like any charitable organization. It is the government's way of encouraging people to help others. The only ones that see these records is me and the individual donors. Not even our pastor has access to our financial records aside from my year-end report which is provided to all congregation members. That report contains the total of all incomes and expenditures but does not contain individual member contributions.Tax purposes. I agree though I have one exception. I think it is important to set an example for my kids, so I give them some idea of my givings.If and when I give, and as far as possible, I make sure no one has any idea what I've done.

I believe the law of tithing is no longer in effect. I believe it is replaced by what is mentioned in 2 Corinthians 8 & 9. I only learned this by reading the bible. But I don't know everything.
