Two lakes of fire?

One physical on the Earth, and one spiritual meant to destroy the spirit body? (second death)

As in the case of the beast and false prophet
Revelation 19:20 "And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone."

"cast alive", implying in this 3D world or physical dimension. Then would that mean a first death?

Then look what revelation 2:11 says "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death."

Second death as in a non physical death. Echoed in Mathew 10:28 "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

After the death of Martin Luthor, a phrase was found written down in his bible. ""Born once - die twice; Born twice - die once"

Reminds me of Revelation 2:11 above.

How is one born twice? Nicodemus asked the same thing.
John 3:4-5 "Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

John the baptist baptized with water, but Jesus baptized with the holy spirit. How then does one receive the holy spirit?

To be saved by Jesus Christ.

How is one saved by Jesus Christ?

Paul and Silas were cast into prison after Paul cast a fortune telling spirit out of a young girl. The girl's handlers were angry with them because the girl and her devil added "abilities", brought them money. Paul and Silas were stripped and cast into prison and places in shackles. At midnight they sang praises to God amidst the other prisoners, and then there was a great earthquake. It shook the foundation of the prison and opened the doors and loosed everyones bands. The keeper of the prison awakened and seen the open doors and thought all the prisoners had escaped. He drew out his sword and thought about falling on it. Then Paul called to him and told him to not harm him self, that all were still there. The keeper took a light and fell before Paul and Silas and said-
Acts 16:30-31 "30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."

On the topic of being saved, I often see this verse - Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

The bible actually gives a good example of this in practice.

As Jesus was being crucified, there were two other men also being crucified beside him. Two criminals, one on the left, the other on the right. The one of the left (i'm assuming left) said to Jesus if thou be the Christ then save thyself and us. The man was not repentant of his crimes, nor did he truly believe Jesus was the son of God. The second man on the right, asked him did he not fear God? And said that the punishment they were receiving was just and they deserved it, but jesus did not deserve the punishment. So this thief was repentant, and he knew he was about to die, he was in a vulnerable position. Not haughty or high minded. He was humbled, his heart was no doubt broken. He confessed he was a sinner. This thief called Jesus lord (believed he was the lord), and asked the lord to remember him when he went to his kingdom. And Jesus told him that day he shall be with him in paradise.

Lets look at that scripture -

Luke 23:39-43
"39 And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us.
40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise."

Keep that in mind and look at what Romans 10:9 says about being saved. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

1.The thief confessed with his lips the lord Jesus, (luke 23:42) he did that in the sight of the multitude. That public accountability seems to be important, because it means facing the fear of mocking and scrutiny.

2.This was obviously pre-resurrection, so unless the thief had been a follower of Jesus he wouldn't have heard talk about him being raised from the dead after death. Nevertheless, he believed with his heart that Jesus was Lord. God knows whats in your heart. This criminal was publicly repentant, and unlike a pharisee, his inside now matched his outside. He had nothing to hide from God.

Therefore God knew him to be worthy, as his heart was in truth, righteousness. One has to be worthy to receive the holy spirit. This anointing can be likened to Samuel anointing Saul with the oil. The father anoints you with the holy ghost. And I imagine that process only occurs when the heart is true.

The holy spirit is a game changer! Years ago I didn't understand why christians would ask others that, right off the bat at meeting them. Its almost like a litmus test. To try and determine if the spirit filled person is talking to another spirit filled person, or just someone that is lost.

And without the holy spirit, you can't truly understand the bible, the way God intended you to.

Luke 24:45 "Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,"

I can read what others say about how the spirit changed them and altered their perception. And I can totally relate. Some of the things I didnt even have words for, but I relate and understand. But if I were to explain that to a lost person, it would make no sense whatsoever!

Why? Because without the spirit of truth, all you have is your flesh mind, carnal wisdom, logic, Everything has to make sense in a perfect rational way for the unsaved mind. Even right now people may read this post and say "what is all this?", as if I am giving a technical method to be saved. But thats just it...Only the father knows whats really in someones heart, and only the father can anoint the holy spirit to some one.

And once that anointing happens then what? You begin your walk with God. Turning from vices and addictions as they no longer interest you the same as before. Aka the old man dies and the new man in Christ emerges. The spirit convicts you and molds you. And you have a natural desire to read and study the bible.

I have learned so much since becoming saved. Grace VS Works, Flesh VS Spirit, types and shadows, light VS darkness, righteous VS unrighteous. I find the further you follow Christ, the more you can see the truth about certain situations.

Thanks to everyone in this forum that has helped me during this walk with God. And thanks for reading.

An excellent post that glorifies God. Can the Holy Spirit change the worst of men? Or is darkness more powerful then Light? Why would God choose the lowly? Why does Jesus die for sin? What does it mean to be where the worm never dies?
Isaiah 66:24New International Version (NIV)
24 “And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.”
Daniel 12:2
Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

Never heard of two lakes of fire.
As always, I put this out for informational purposes only. I have seen a few NDE accounts which indeed mention two lakes-of-fire. The first one is in the current, temporary Hell (Sheol) and is the current fate of some of the damned. The second lake is Gehenna, a bigger LOF that will, after final judgment, accept Sheol and everything/one in it. The first one is on the Earth, well actually in the Earth, at its center. I don't know where the second one is.

Maybe that is why the NDE accounts are not accurate.

That is not Bibical. There is only one lake of fire that the Bible mentions.

Hello Kathi! thanks for the reply. I was pointing out how the scripture says the beast and false prophet were cast alive into the lake of fire. Being cast alive would mean of this world wouldn't it? It was just something I wondered about.

No, it means that they were cast into the Lake of fire at the last of the Millennium. The lake of fire will not be on this Earth. The unbelievers will be cast into that lake of fire as well.

Thank you! I mean, this is so difficult. I wish I could just keep it simple and "follow the Bible", but I'm dealing with so much conflicting information.
I see your confusion. There are alot of interpretations of the Word of God on here.

There is Satan which many call the devil. Then their are the fallen angels/demons who fell with Satan when he was kicked out of heaven. They work together.

Well then let me ask you this, do you believe all the devils have one mind? This is a type and shadow opposite of the one mind one spirit of Jesus Christ. I imagine them having a hive mind. What one devil sees or knows they all know. This would allow them all to have great intel in orchestrating their plans. But its not like the omniscience of God.

I don't know.I do not give them alot of thought.I definately do not give them any power.God is above them.
