Agreed.
While there 'may have been' a Peter that was one of the first leaders of the RCC, there is NO concrete 'evidence' that the 'apostle' Peter was 'this leader'.

Quite hypocritcal of you imagican. You swear up and down that Constantine started the Catholic Church. You defend it by citing from history. Yet when the same historical texts are used to show Peter was in Rome you obvuscate. Very sad. :-?
Boy Thess, you get all bent out of shape when someone 'puts words in your mouth', but it doesn't seem 'to count' when you do it to others.
I have NEVER stated ONCE that Contantine 'started the CC'. NEVER. Constantine 'allowed' Christianity to become an 'accepted' religion by the Romans. He WAS the LEADER of the Roman Empire at the time that Christianity became accepted. But Constantine WASN'T even a Christian until days or hours before he died. And we don't 'truly' KNOW if he was EVER a Christian. He certainly NEVER lived like one.
Now, what I HAVE stated, on NUMEROUS occasions, is that Constantine was the ULTIMATE decision maker concerning the 'doctrine' of 'trinity'. After both sides said their piece, Constantine sided with those that 'pushed' for 'trinity'. I would imagine that it had ALOT to do with himself being familiar with a 'triune god' in his religion, Maybe not, maybe it was simply a matter of 'who he favored at the time'. Don't know the answer to this question, but he OBVIOUSLY didn't know enough about Christianity to have been previously informed as to ANY details concerning the 'TRUTH' concerning Christ and God.
No, I would imagine if we had a 'completely accurate' history of the CC, we would find that it was formed 'partially' by Christians in Rome, and 'partially' by the religious leaders that 'had' been devoted to 'other' gods PREVIOUS to the introduction of Christianity into the Roman Empire.
Conviently, for the CC, there is NO completely 'accurate' history of 'their formation'.
