There is something in Elk that makes my system happy. Nothing like black powder hunting anywhere in the Rockies
Us, too. Some of our happiest times as a couple, and with family and friends, have been spent both hunting and just riding in the mountains. With horses you can get really close to elk without them even noticing. I especially enjoyed it in the spring when the babies are born. They are so busy and noisy you can sneak right up in a herd with just a little cover. I almost got run over by a cow elk one time. Such fun. The Lord has really blessed man with nature.

Sipping wine in the Napa Valley

envy, lust....:lol

The Napa and Sonoma valleys are beautiful. I've even heard that grapes that are stressed a bit, from drought, make even finer wine.

That valley is the stinkiest place at harvest time... Wine tasting places up and down both valley roads full of drunks.. so pretty before ...

Have done a few extended horse excursions in the Rockies. We rented them. It was fairly reasonable. Couple hundred bucks per person for having the horse delivered to the campsite for two weeks and picked up afterwards. Tack, feed and hay included! Awesome animals. Amazing how they can climb.

Yeah. A friend of mine has a vacation home in Sonoma. We used to go there quite a bit. Usually mid summer or after harvest.

We lived just over the mountain from the Napa Valley for 20+ years ... Grapes have pushed all over that country... Nice hospital in Saint Helena .. actually Deer Park

My beautiful Italian wife from Italy is making home made pizza right now.
Her flour is rising and she will make several loaves of home made bread shortly.

The pizza was great and is gone already.
The bread is done.
I just have to let it cool off a bit and then start slicing and putting butter on it and eat away.....
