Looking for Angels, by Skillet

"What will you do to make a difference, to make a change?
What will you do to help someone along the way?
Just a touch, a smile as you turn the other cheek
Pray for your enemies, humble yourself, love's staring back at me
In the midst of the most painful faces
Angels show up in the strangest of places
"

Interesting; I'll have to check it out.

Blessings.

Usually I don't like contemporary worship of that kind very much, but this song is good! :) Thanks for sharing.

Somehow this track actually reminds me a bit of Owl City; the Adam Young sound, if you know what I mean?

Shattered, by Trading Yesterday

I like this song a lot for some reason. Don't ask why, because IDK. xD
I don't think it's a Christian song, but one has to wonder what is meant by the line "And his love will conquer all". Who else could be being referred to?
Furthermore, here's more from that verse:
"There's a light, there's the sun
Taking all the shattered ones
To the place we belong
And his love will conquer all"
Interesting.

questdriven:

Interesting...

I think for specific lyrics to be considered definitely Christian they need to have a fairly overt level of reference, anyway.

Blessings.

Yeah.

A bit of research seems to suggest that a band member of Trading Yesterday is a Christian, though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hodges

questdriven:

I see there's also a link to his personal site. And some interview clips. (So what do you think of his tribal-style tattoos?)

Blessings.

PS: @quesdriven:

Is Trading Yesterday supposed to be an overtly Christian band?

Probably not. It seems to be one of those where one or more of the members are Christian, and maybe something makes it into their songs once in a while or perhaps much more often. (I'm not really familiar with them, other than that one song. The band changed their name to "New Age of Information" in recent years, apparently.)
But overall they aren't marketing themselves as Christian.

Interesting, ty. 'New Age of Information'; I wonder if its philosophy is New Age?

Atonement:

Great! :) The opening tune is by J S Bach, and in a sense you can't get more Classical than that, and yet it's geuine Metal!

Blessings.

Hi @questdriven :

So what do you think of this? it's both thoroughly traditional Classical and very modern Metal!

I think it kind of proves that traditional and modern are simply terms which maybe denote what people are accustomed to, from their varying perspectives. And maybe it's also a very superficial toss-up whether the musicians that play them are either in tuxedos and off-the-shoulder floppy dresses, or else in denim and leathers with piercings.

(These two cents' make any sense?)

Blessings.
