Not Gonna Die, by Skillet

I hit the favorite button before I had heard 40 seconds of this song.:clap2

Yes, you really like Christian hard rock, don't you?

Blessings.

yeah ive only heard a couple songs so far but when i have more downtime i plan on listening to more, yeah i like hard rock/metal was so glad when i chanced upon the message amped on sirius xm radio

oh yeah i like that, one of my fav bands is within temptation but im not real sure what exact category they fall under its like gothic/symphonic rock

This was good enough to post again. Awesome.

Do those conductors really guide the music? He seemed a little out of time with them?

Edward, it was awesome to be sure. Yeah, I think they really do guide the whole show. Myung-Whun Chung the conductor was a tad jerky but thats his style, me thinks.

I'm not a musician, but I did not notice him being out of time.

Edward, I think you will also love Myung-Whan Chung's Amen. Its off the same Andrea Bocelli DVD.

This is a magnificient and quite beautiful rendition of the "Amen."

Cheers.

Edward,

/big grin ... Edward, yes Lewis nailed it ...

Btw, .. lol .. threadjackery is a serious offense and can result in the loss of the index finger on the right hand, I am told .. /ha

Anyway I'm glad you liked Sarah Brightman's Running. And thanks for Pat Boone"s Crazy Train. Yeah, Pat "went metal" briefly, but I don't think many of his fans really "bought into" the idea of Pat as no more Mr. Nice Guy .. lol ..

Cheers.

PS
I love really cool music that is soul stirring. If you come across anything that really moves you, drop me a link. Meanwhile, let me know how you like this one:

Its Jackie Evancho singing Nessun Dorma from Puccini's magnificient opera Turandot. If you will, kick your speakers up and stay with it to the end, (its a short piece) those last three "vincero's" will make the hairs stand up on the back of your neck, quite thrilling, tis.

If you've never heard this, you won't believe it. Jackie was 11 years old when she sang Nessun Dorma in this video, but the main thing is the force of her voice and the quality of this piece at the end.

As you know it is the end of Nessun Dorma and those three final "vincero's" that thrill the human heart. Play it loud. It will move you.

`

Well, I did as you suggested and...that's crazy! It did! Whoa. That is good, she's a real pro. ...and I was always brought up to hate opera, lol. This is good stuff and a nice change of pace from what I routinely listen to.

Wow. Thanks Jack. :)

Edward

/smile ... My pleasure, I am always tickled to share good up-lifting music with people who like it.

Btw, since you liked Nessun Dorma, you will probably be glad to hear that it is an aria from a love story that has a happy ending.

Calaf, who sings Nessun Dorma in the opera Turnadot, wants to win the love of his princess and this aria, Nessun Dorma, ends with three "vinceros", the English translation of which is:

"Dilegua, o notte! Tramontate, stelle! Tramontate, stelle! All'alba vincerò! Vincerò! Vincerò!"

("Vanish, o night! Fade, you stars! Fade, you stars! At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win! ")

The last three "vincero's" ("I will win! I will win! I will win!) is Calaf's correct prediction that he will win the love of his princess and of course he does and .. /grin .. they live happily ever after.

Listening to the music previews from the new Skillet album on iTunes.
Now that the album is out, I've only listened to the previews of the songs so far. I don't want to burn out on this album before I even have the chance to buy it, by looking up the full version of the songs on YouTube. xD

But this one song I especially liked, so I went ahead and looked it up:

I have the habit of listening to tracks over and over again... :)

I guess when you have the full album you'll be in a better position to listen to exactly what you want to, though.

Blessings.

A friend of mine showed me the clean version (show above) of this song today. (The uncensored version has some vulgar language in it, so I never actually listened to this song before today.)
For some reason, the lyrics really make me think of a western or something. xD
So yeah, just one of the secular songs I can now enjoy.

Well, I only listen to k-pop and I don't have a particular song that I am listening to right now. Interesting fact: Almost all Korean singers are Christian. And 25% of South Koreans are Christian, and Christianity is becoming a more popular religion in South Korea.

Monster (live), by Skillet

The deluxe version of Rise includes some live videos from Winter Jam 2012. I thought that stage looked familiar. :)

Offspring's pretty cool. They have a couple songs I like. I never heard this one, is it new?
I think it might be a few years old. Not sure. I saw an AMV for it sometime last year, although since the title on that video said "[explicit]", I didn't watch it.

I've heard of them.

Freakshow, by Skillet

I thought the little "intro" on this one was interesting. Seems Skillet went more out of their way than usual to make some Christian references on this album. Several of the songs seem to be more obviously Christian than usual for them.

One of my favorite songs from the new album, I think. Along with Circus for a Psycho.

ETA:
Some of the lyrics in this video are inaccurate. For example, near the beginning there, it's "come see things your eyes won't believe", not "come see, feast your eyes hopefully". And "we will not conform to the masses", not "we won't conform to the masters". There are one or two others.
Do the people who do these videos even have freaking ears? If you're going to do a lyric video, do it right for gosh sakes!
