What do you think the scripture means in 2 Cor 5:10?

The 2 Cor 5 judgement is a judgement for rewards or lack thereov. Yes we will ALL stand judgement but not for whether we are saved or not. Another more extensive view of this judement is in 1 Cor 3:

10 According to the grace of God which was given to me, like a wise master builder I laid a foundation, and another is building on it. But each man must be careful how he builds on it. 11 For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each man’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. 14 If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. 15 If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

So it is NOT for salvation but for rewards.

I think for those whose whole lives are found to be wood, hay and stubble, that won’t be much of a comfort.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

Does anyone want to think about this and other verses that discuss when the books will be opened and our lives evaluated? I cannot quite see how being judged by deeds AND having your name in the book of life as the pivotal important point go together.

Does having your name there mean you’ve avoided being judged by your deeds? Doesn’t seem so. If all non-entires are condemned anyway, why judge at all? Anyone else curious about this?

Please don’t give us reams of scripture with no discussion. It’d be nice to have an exchange of thoughts not a lecture. We know the scripture. We want to know what it means for us when we stand before Him.

Or if your church told you that you’re in like flint and all bad deeds are automatically “covered under the blood” then you’d best move on. We won’t enjoying hear “those verses don’t apply” and you won’t enjoy hearing how they do.

If I haven’t just eliminated everyone, anyone interested?
You know we might just have this all wrong. It's very possible that the Christian may only be receiving what is good and the unbeliever may be receiving what is left in the absence of Christianity.

Psalms 73:3 kjv
3. For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
5. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
6. Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.
7. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.

King David said the ungodly have no problems.

Christians have the rod and staff to direct them (many are the trials of the righteous, but the Lord delivers us out of them all).

This is easy to answer. Even Christians who are saved will be judged by the deeds of their life?

But why? You ask...

Remember the lessons in the Parable of the three servants and the Talents. After you became a saved born again Christian, were you a profitable servant for Him?

Did you yell at the drunk man with a sign and tell him to get a job? (Because he would proobably just spend it to get drunk?!)

Or did you give it to him anyway with the thought, maybe he's hungover and could use the money for a good meal?

How many good deeds do we do as Christians? Do you want to show up to this court proceeding alone? (Have you brought even one soul to the Lord?!)
Look who I brought with me, Lord!

Different types of good deeds prolly bring different rewards.

To compare, when the condemned go to court to be judged, they are judged by their deeds to determine amount of torment. Some sins are worse than others.

There are several scriptures that resonate with 2 Corinthians 5:10 for us to glean discussion points from.

Nevertheless each of us will be judged by our deeds, the things we do in this life.

What will each of us will do with the Life Jesus gives us is up to each of us to decide.

Will we hide it like the one who received one talent?

Then he who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.’
“But his lord answered and said to him, ‘You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. So take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents.
For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away. And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew 25:24-30

The parable explained —

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
“Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’
“Then they also will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?’ Then He will answer them, saying, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life
.” Matthew 25:31-46

Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
  • for I was hungry and you gave Me food;
  • I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;
  • I was a stranger and you took Me in;
  • I was naked and you clothed Me;
  • I was sick and you visited Me;
  • I was in prison and you came to Me.’

Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
  • for I was hungry and you gave Me no food;
  • I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink;
  • I was a stranger and you did not take Me in,
  • naked and you did not clothe Me,
  • sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’

Actually, I didn't yell at the drunk guy. But I drove on by. The Lord stopped me. He said go give man some money, he's looking for a meal. And I was like, whoa! Yes sir. And I turned around and went and gave the guy some money. Then went towards home again, and you know what the Lord said then?

...I told you in scripture that Angels are all around you. I put these Angels out there as homeless people and in the path of your day on purpose as a test for you to see your response. If you have my Heart towards the poor. I disguise myself amongst the poor and homeless and the world never sees me..../

I'm not asking you to believe it, just telling you what He said.

I'm just going to cover somewhat, [The Real Time] "the Judgment Seat of Christ", which is according to our individual drawn (calling) to GOD.

Strongs Greek 939 "Judgment Seat"
Root Word (Etymology)
From baino (to walk)

2 Corinth 5:9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
10) For we must all appear before the "judgment seat" of Christ; that every one may receive the things [done] in [his] body, according to that he hath done, whether [it be] good or bad.
11) Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.
Concerning "the Judgment Seat of Christ" and "The Terror of the Lord" (severe chastisements'), which I am very much acquainted with,
the verse 1Peter 4:17 below pretty much covers it.
1Peter 4:17 For the time [is come] that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if [it] first [begin] at us, what shall the end [be] of them that obey not the gospel of God?

These 2 verses below testify that the extreme Saints of the Corinthians, led by the Apostle Paul, had "the Kingdom of GOD" within themselves, and that Kingdom of GOD was the spirit of Christ Jesus in their Blood very much so -->(Redeeming Blood).
2Corinth 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more.
17) Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
