What if Adam and Eve had eaten from the tree of life?

After Adam and Eve had eaten the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, God threw them out of the garden of Eden in case they ate from the tree of life aswell.
What would have happened if they'd eaten from the tree of life first? Would they have lived forever regardless of whether they sinned or not, or what?

Genesis 2:16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

They were not forbidden to eat of the tree of life.

Genesis 3:22-24 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

Could you imagine if they had been let to continue eating from the tree of life?... To bear their sins for all eternity?

Indeed it says they would have "lived forever". Like Stove is saying, it would be a horrible thing to live with sin over you.

There was a HUGE plan and a HUGE purpose for all of this that took place in the Garden. It would be near impossible to explain it all on this forum. In fact, notice where in the "Book" this all takes place? In the beginning. We know that the rest of the Bible explains the plan and purpose.

But if there is another specific question you have regarding this, it is definitely a worthy topic of discussion. The simple answer to your original question is just yes.

We can always repent of sin. Deliberatly rejecting God and doing whatever we want however is far more dangerous.

I've always wondered what happened to the tree of life. Obviously it was destroyed with the garden of eden, but wouldn't it be interesting to know what it looked like.

Revelation 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

No, because we can clearly see that disobedience caused death... The author is "looking back" to what God had said to Adam when he writes this and we know that they were removed from the garden... BTW, you havn't seen Adam or Eve lately have you? Oh.. that's right. How silly of me. They died didn't they?
