What if Ishmael had not been born?

What if Ishmael had not been born? Would we have had a better or close-to-perfect world?

What do you think? What kind of world would that be?

*Maybe, only Christianity vs atheism!

Re: What if Ishmael had not been born

What if Cain wasn't born. Always a lot of what ifs, but the fact is until Satan is thrown into the lake of fire there will always be sin in the world and those who oppose God.

Not that it was God that made these people behave the way they behaved. The people chose to do whatever they liked. And 'whatever they liked' have changed a lot of things in the world. God, being a merciful God, still has a way of saving or reducing our pains.

What if my dad hadn't married my mom? Would Classik have....?

Not that God never knew we would choose to do what we did. He knew and always knows. He shows us one of the ways out.

I'm confused by this statement. Ways?

There is more than one way?

edit:

As I was reading this I was going to ask about why folks think Ishmael is Arabia and discuss Numbers 13.. but you're statement caught me off guard.

In some cases it could be just one way, in other cases it could be more - then you choose that which is easier

uh no, the jews killed christian in the kitos war and the christians killed jews who had nothing to do with the invasion of the holy land.

Jews? People of Israel?
Was looking for something more general (considering the topic)

Thanks

Unless I didn't understand you clearly. (not trying to go OT)

I was trying to say God could give us an option or options through which we could come back to him 'when we go astray'.

When I hear some one say "ways" plural I can only assume one is saying this another way other than Christ.

ways, options, - plural

Is there any other way, except through Christ?

I understand you now:)

Christ is the only WAY.

I was saying a different thing altogether in order to address for_his_glory's post.

what people? Everyone who has gone astray: the prodigal son of the bible, a killer, a thief, a former believer, Samson who had disobeyed God etc

Not that God never knew we would choose to do what we did. He knew and always knows. He shows us one of the ways out.

Gotcha, I was definitely confused as I admitted.
Now I feel completely comfortable with moving on to what I was going to originally ask about.
