I'm confident that some things that seem to be gaps in the story or loose end story lines will be filled in or flashed back in a later episode. I wished there was more of a story as to how Kylo went from the light to the dark side. My guess is that this account will be revealed in E8.

Ive seen critics point to Kylo not easily handling Rey. But he had been shot by Chewwy's lethal crossbow. What should have sent him reeling in pain, felt like a paint ball on his bare chest. That alone showed me he's made of some serious dark stuff, and he will come into his own as the story unfolds.

Also, Rey is obviously very powerful in the force. And Kylo besides being injured, hasn't finished his training. I don't think he was trying to kill Rey either, because he was trying to turn her to the dark side.

He isn't known for the use of the light saber,or claymore.he is now more machine then man.he was bleeding ,and all four extremeties are injured.

SPOILERS:

I finally saw it. It was so good. At first I was kinda irritated with Kylo Ren, but then I considered... he took a crossbow blast to the chest and still got up and fought. That thing packs a hellacious punch. It literally sends Stormtroopers flying through the air.

I felt like he was weak in the force to be subdued by an adept like Rey, but I think they were just trying to show how much she is tied to the force, not so much that Kylo is weak. I mean, the guy stopped a blaster beam in mid-air, meanwhile Vader and Yoda have only ever deflected them. In the video games, that force move is called Force Stasis, which is a light side move... another reason I liked Kylo in Episode VII. The inner conflict. Boy, do I know something about inner conflict.

His mind interrogation technique was more honed than Vader's was. Sure, Luke was known in the original trilogy for sifting through his father's thoughts like it was nothing. "I can feel the conflict within you." No problem. But Kylo actually extracts specific data. That has to be mentioned. Even Darth Vader had to use an interrogation droid on Leia, he couldn't get the info he needed via the force.

Also, let's take a moment to think about how he kept smashing his hand against his chest wound near the end, seemingly drawing strength from his horrible pain. Dude is a beast.

What I don't understand is how Rey is so ridiculously powerful... or, maybe she only survived because Kylo was so mentally and physically damaged at that point. You know, crossbow blast to the chest, I just killed my dad sort of thing.

I can't WAIT to see how Kylo turns out in Episode VIII.

I know in the eu, Palpatine is not dead.he should be coming back.in the EU Luke turns to the dark side.

Luckily the EU is no longer canon.
Too bad there are some good stories in that.plenty of that.given that vi,v,iv are nearly 40 years ago.It wouldn't surprise me in ten years they redo them.the new trek movies aren't that far from the the last one.note majel Roddenberry was the last person who held trek to her widows vision until her death. JJ Abrams did thar atrocious trek after her death.Lucas has no control nor rights to star wars any more Disney does.so yes they could simply redo the original one if they wished.

I read some of the EU. Mostly stuff from either before the prequels or long long after the original trilogy.

I don't know anything about EU, but Eora great point about not wanting to kill Rey. His preference is definitely to preserve and persuade her, but for what? More on that in a minute. Blake that was VERY insightful! Kylo is the most polarizing figure to come out of TFA, because many people don't look further than to view him as weak.

He doesn't need the mask like Vader did, but he "needs" it to hide who he really is from both sides of the force. And here is the theory I'm really excited about. Kylo is actually on a mission to destroy the Evil Empire. And he wants Rey to help him accomplish this. When he was face to face with Han and asked if he would help him, he was asking him if he would make the ultimate sacrifice to solidify the trust he is trying to establish from within the Empire.

Crazy, huh? And here's real crazy. What if... what if Rey is actually none other than the reincarnated Darth Vader? I thought this guy was off his rocker until I read this: http://www.inquisitr.com/2649390/st...ims-to-know-who-she-is-and-it-will-floor-you/

Read his points before you dismiss it. What if, in the end of this set of episodes, Rey is leading the Empire, and she is eliminated by Ren who is leading the Rebellion? That would be amazing! I'm totally geeking out over this saga, but like I said in my OP, it's special to me.

Eora I don't think I can edit the OP. Can you put something at the very beginning warning for spoilers? I think it's been long enough. And Blake was the last person in the civilized world to see it, anyway. :cool2

The mask for vader was so that he could see.
take my mask off,let me see you with my own eyes
Hi eyes probably weren't the greatest and my the mask covered his weak appearence as well him breathing on life support would make appear weak.when the mask was taken off, did you notice the steam coming from the machine.kylo Ren also felt weak compared to vader.

Since I was online I did the spoiler warning thing. Hope Eora doesn't mind.

Perfect. Thank you!!

Hmmm... I always thought Vader's mask was some sort of breathing apparatus itself. I guess with the Vader breathing and all. :shrug

True, but Luke did lament that his father would die if he took off the mask. Vader said it was alright, he was soon going to die anyway.
Yes but episode 5.he takes it off.remember when he talks to the emporer he takes it off.

Yeah, many awesome questions and theories.

Why would Ren want to turn Rey? Because she would be a tremendous asset to the dark side.

Can't wait for VIII. 1.5 years seems like ages away.

SPOILERS: Was absolutely incredible, saw it on Christmas Day, I can NOT wait for the next one, I'm a die hard Sci-Fi guy xD
One complaint: Han Solo's death was horrible, he should've gone out in a much more... Honorable way. I think he should've gone out Guns a blazin'
