Who Are The Two Witnesses?

Maybe the fact that Jerusalem sits on seven hills and the beast from the pit attacks Jerusalem at the time of the end.
Scripture doesn't show the beast from the pit attacking any other city.Just Jerusalem.
Chapter and verse please.

You obviously don't know who the beast is that kills the saints.Jesus talked about it all through the gospel.

Mathew 10
23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

The saints will be persecuted in every city of Israel right up to the day Christ comes. It will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah than for any city in Israel.

Mathew 10
15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

As for the man of lawlessness,he does nuke Babylon .The nuke in the Bible is called the abomination that causes desolation. He orders his armed forces to place it there. It insinerates everyone in Jerusalem who has taken the city of Jerusalem. They are consumed in an instant while they are standing on their feet. They don't even have time to fall it happens so fast. The only people who can survive are those who can walk through fire with the Lord.

Zech 14
12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
You have the beast that comes out of the abyss and his false prophet.
the beast hates Babylon and will burn it with fire. It is never inhabited again. Possible nuke used.
zech 14 describes the lord ,not man , defeating the armies that have come against Jerusalem.

Luke 13:34 kjv
34. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gatherher brood under her wings, and ye would not!

I think the Matthew similar passage was listed. If another person has listed Luke I support it.

Their enemies did overtake them. (Rome) Solidified by rebels among them challenging Romes rule. They did not consider Rome couldn’t even be in Israel apart from Gods will nor would they believe/accept it was because of disobedience. For they did not recognize Jesus as the Christ nor understand the type of redemption God sent at that time. That doesn’t mean people born more than 2000 years later are responsible for that judgment nor identify Jerusalem as Babylon.
Rome was behind many of the saints killed elsewhere as Christianity was outlawed.

A new covenant has been introduced and the curses and blessings toward Israel under the first covenant are no longer in place. The kingdom has not yet been restored to Israel. But will be at the 2nd coming as God has chosen that city for the soles of His feet and where He has written His name.

You need the chapter and verse of the beast from the pit attacking Jerusalem?Look at the OP for heavens sake and see what this thread is about.
The beast from the pit is the one who attacks and kills the two witnesses in Jerusalem.

Revelation 11:7

Do you also need to be taught the names of the seven hills on which Jerusalem sits?

Revelation 17:9

You are incorrect.
The false prophet helps the beast that comes out of the sea.Not the beast that comes out of the Pit.
Dont confuse the two.

13 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Revelation 11:7
Attack the two witnesses... not Jerusalem. They are there... but the city is not attacked.

Do you also need to be taught the names of the seven hills on which Jerusalem sits?

Revelation 17:9
So who are the 7 kings? Sure I would like names.

The beast not only attacks Jerusalem ,it takes control of Jerusalem. The two witnesses will be dead in the streets of Jerusalem while the beast is raping the Israel women. The beast from the pit spends three days doing whatever it wants to do in Jerusalem. Then the Lord shows up.

Zech 14

14 A day of the Lord is coming, Jerusalem, when your possessions will be plundered and divided up within your very walls.

2 I will gather all the nations to Jerusalem to fight against it; the city will be captured, the houses ransacked, and the women raped. Half of the city will go into exile, but the rest of the people will not be taken from the city.

So you match one of a multitude of identifying features... what about Chapter 18 of Revelation... you haven't touched that.

Again there are only two. Both ,not three ,are thrown alive into the lake of fire.

Again there are only two. Both ,not three ,are thrown alive into the lake of fire.
Then you will never understand this even though it proves Babylon worships the beast,it's image, and received it's mark.

Revelation 14:9-10

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

And who is this cup given to because they worshiped the beast,it's image and recieved it's mark?
None other than Babylon.

Revelation 16:19
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Again there are only two. Both ,not three ,are thrown alive into the lake of fire.
And while I'm at it ,I'd like to add the Jerusalem earthquake.

Revelation 16:18-19
And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

This earthquake that strikes Babylon reminds me of the earthquake that takes place in Jerusalem on the same day a cloud ascends into heaven from Jerusalem.

revelation 11:13
And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

You wouldn't know what causes a great earthquake and a cloud to ascend from the earth into the heavens do you?

There is (evidently only to me) several things that are intermixed in Revelation.

The Lord chastens those whom he loves.
This can come (it appears several ways, and in different times/covenants):
1.Directly from heaven.
2. God will raise up a pagan country to punish Israel (that will cause repentance).
3. In the old covenant Israel stoned certain of their own sinners.
4. Other

Now let us look at punishment of pagans.
1. God will punish pagans directly.
2. In the Old covenant he used Israel to destroy pagans.
3. Confusion will turn pagan against pagan in battle to give Israel victory.

In the future?
1.Pagan (nations?) will destroy pagan nations, and turn right around and mourn their destruction. (Confusion from God)
(This is a new thing ??)
Jeremiah 51:11 kjv
11. Make bright the arrows; gather the shields: the LORD hath raised up the spirit of the kings of the Medes: for his device is against Babylon, to destroy it; because it is the vengeance of the LORD, the vengeance of his temple.
2. Christian turn in their rock sack, and turn punishment methods over to God.
3. Christians battle in spiritual warfare, and not in carnal battle.

I will have to look up the scriptures on all this. If you have a particular statement ask.
Others may choose to disagree till we find the scriptures. There are no blatant statements on some of this, but the textual circumstance of events leads to the conclusion. (Kind of hidden new thing).

Isaiah 43:19 kjv
19. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

Note that some things Isaiah/other prophets said will happen in the New Testament (after the 400 years of silence).

This is also where some see things in our future, and some see it happening in NT past. I tend to see both (which makes me seem strange).

You wouldn't know what causes a great earthquake and a cloud to ascend from the earth into the heavens do you?
I have already pointed out the earthquake. I have read "7000" people were killed and the survivors gave "glory" to God. Neither the beast nor those who fall to his lies would ever do for if anyone willfully receives the mark of the beast and worships the beast their place will be with those consigned to the lake of fire. Since the earthquake opens up a escape route from the surrounding armies as the mount of olives is split in two I would state the Lord caused the earthquake.
(same city and same time of the end)
Zech 14
You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.

From God as was the fire that came out of their mouths.
Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked.

The great city that rules of the nations and is full of wickedness and obscene wealth is NOT
Jerusalem. That house of wickedness will be established/built in the land of shinar.

I have also read all Israel will be saved.

A future house of wickedness in Zechariahs prophesies.

Then the angel who talked with me came forward and said to me, ‘Look up and see what this is that is coming out.’ 6 I said, ‘What is it?’ He said, ‘This is a basket[b] coming out.’ And he said, ‘This is their iniquity[c] in all the land.’ 7 Then a leaden cover was lifted, and there was a woman sitting in the basket![d] 8 And he said, ‘This is Wickedness.’ So he thrust her back into the basket,[e]and pressed the leaden weight down on its mouth. 9 Then I looked up and saw two women coming forward. The wind was in their wings; they had wings like the wings of a stork, and they lifted up the basket[f] between earth and sky. 10 Then I said to the angel who talked with me, ‘Where are they taking the basket?’[g] 11 He said to me, ‘To the land of Shinar, to build a house for it; and when this is prepared, they will set the basket[h] down there on its base.’

The beast hates Babylon and destroys the City by fire in a single day never to be inhabited again. Thats not Jerusalem.
Yes it is not exactly Jerusalem.

This statement I would like to discuss.

Does the beast hate Babylon, or is the wrath of God behind the destruction of Babylon?

The nations are sometimes put in confusion to destroy themselves.

Help me with who the beast actually hates.

Revelation 18:1 kjv
1. And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.

It looks like the destruction information for the destruction of Babylon comes out of heaven. The wrath of God.

In the book of Job, we learn Gods control of nature was allowed for Satan to use. The power comes from heaven and IMHO not from the pit.

Complex beyond the reminds of my carnal mind. (Wise as serpents harmless as doves).

It's a shame you don't know scripture half as well as you think you do. Those who are fleeing Judea on the day of the Lord are fleeing the abomination that causes desolation.

Zech 14
You will flee by my mountain valley, for it will extend to Azel. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.

Mathew 24:15-26
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

I encourage you to keep studying though so you will pick up on things such as this. There are many things such as this you are overlooking.

The beast hates Babylon and destroys the City by fire in a single day never to be inhabited again. Thats not Jerusalem.
The beast that ascends out of the pit hates Babylon.
But Babylon loves the beast out of the sea.Thats all she has ever wanted. She even rejected God so that she could have her own king like the other nations.

At least a remnant of Israel will make it out of Babylon.A very small remnant..
